Building on a flat bed truck is much better than building (or buying) for a regular pickup truck. You can create a bigger space with fewer obstacles. This is a very inspirational design. I like what he has done here.

Really cool build with really cool and well thought out aesthetics and compartments, but as someone who lived in a converted Astro van for 2 years, having a functional sink is a must. Also a more reliable toilet with designated hideaway. (I invented my own 😊) I also, personally, would forego the mirror and some of the window space for needed storage, but if you’re only looking to use this occasionally for an outdoor adventure, then it’s great. 🌟

I was thinking that also. I ran over a huge pothole recently. What happens to windows in that case? I guess in worse case, I then replace the window.
@lethiapage4767Күн бұрын
I was thinking the same mainly from getting dinged up by gravel while going down the road, potholes of course as well! I'm glad he didn't have problem. my thought was to config some sort of drop down awning out of corrugated tin over that picture window. Attached at the top, folds down over the windows en route and serves as a shade or covered space next to the truck when parked. With telescoping prop poles to adjust the pitch. Then you can adjust the light and or size of the protected area. For the other windows similar materials but clip in and removable.

1990 F350 with a 460 CID engine…hmmm…I had a 1996 F TWO fifty with a 460. On a good day I got 11MPG…when the truck was EMPTY (truck was in great shape - well maintained, less than 100K miles, almost like new). I hate to imagine what the fuel burn is with this thing, but it is a nice looking camper from a users perspective.

I like the fact that he puts the bike onto the lifting platform. I have this idea, not yet realised to maybe buy a box van with a lifting platform so that I can take both of my motorbikes with me, however the downside is that I would be looking at a 22’ box so that there is still a reasonable amount of living space too. I don’t know what the rules are for driving with the tail lift down? That may be different in the UK to USA. It definitely provides a different perspective in choosing what truck to buy

@JarrodTocci I would do a corner unit in the back of the space where the window is. Just replace the back windows with fogged glass and put a smaller window in the side wall closest to the back then frame in the corner. The shower headed in the corner with a small bag toilet under that. Under the flip up stove top, add a small sink and that would be perfect

Hey darlin, really into these kinds of videos, and grateful it was recommended to me. As a former recording arts student I have one critical bit of feedback to offer to really help your channel out for the hearing sensitive. When outside like this, put one of them mic socks over your mic... the open air and your voice will be softened, Less piercing on the ear drums. I hope that this helps your channel and success for those of us out here, with sensitive ears. I have to turn the volume very very low as you speak, in order to enjoy this video, as it stands. There are also audio softwares you can download that can show you the clip plane as a waveform, and you can adjust before editing to your final. Anyways... wish you much success with your channel.
