So cool !! Back in 75, my older sister was a senior in HS. She was getting picked up for a date, my buddy and I were playing outside when he came pulling into the driveway with a custom van...Wow. We thought that was the wildest ride. He gets out of the van, long hair dude, and we were checking out the inside. My sister comes out front, all dolled up ready to go. "Ray" was showing us all over his badass van. Of course, my sister was getting pissed we were holding up her date. When we saw the inside, with a totally shagged out rear area with a bed, I said to my buddy...Rays getting lucky tonight. Lol My sister didn't hear, but Ray just smiled. Off they drove, with the side pipes singing.

Amazing. I love the old ones but my 95 Chevy conversion is like paradise on wheels. Plan to make many family memories in mine. Kids and dogs love it so memories coming. I grew up in a 70s Chevy so it’s all about the memories.

Dad got a new dodge van in 1969 the year i was born. Alot of good memories in that van. It never let us down. That thing was a tank and built lika rock. Hes been offered 3x what he paid for it. Now i have it and he made me promise never to sell it. So for alil over a year now i been making it new again. Only thing im changing about it is nothing.. Lol numbers matching factor brown and black on the inside. Oh i did put vintage air conditioning in it.. Dad would call me a P***y. But socal seems hotter than it did when i was a kid back in the 70s and 80s.. Nice vid that took me back.. Thank u.!

Reminds me of the mid sixties when I was about ten and my Uncle Joe George bought me a fortynine DIVCO milk truck that I promptly converted into a van camper. Was my first van and spent many happy hours camping and driving the country roads of Mass. You could stand up or sit down to drive. Have had many more vans over these many years, lots of fun and memories. This van run brought the memories and tears to me. Thank you, your good friend Vinny in good old Fla.

I wend to my first nats this year in my 86 g20 sportvan outta Milwaukee, WI and welcome by a lone wolf chicago van club. I'm 36 years old. I come from a family of wrenchers but this whole thing is different and I feel that in my gut. The entire experience was incredible. Everyone was so welcoming. All the creativity was so astounding. I truly felt like I found a weird family I never know existed. Y'all honestly and truly I understand the saying "I dont know if I saved the van or if the van saved me". I'm young. Lets save as many as we can and respect the older folks who created this uniquely American art form. Can I get a HELL YEAH if you a younger/newer/puppy trucker and you WILL NOT LET THIS SHIT DIE OUT. #saveemall

Proud former owner of 2 pre 80's chevy vans. Started with a 69 panel, 3 on the tree, 307. It was white and my boys called it Amana because we froze in the winter.. Then I bought a 78 Beauville with a 400 automatic. It had 100 K when I bought it and put another 60K on it before having to replace the motor. Went with a new crate 350 this time. Used it for work all week and it took us on several long vacations. Great memories!!

Omg my head exploded from the trailer pic. If I win the lottery a 70s sin bin is on the list for purchasing. I’m just undecided on the mural I want. A fire breathing dragon with a half naked chick riding it while carrying a crossbow , or a wild striped graphics theme. Choices are tough.

For me dodge made the nicest vans from 70’s into 90’s. Not enough nice 80’s dodge vans in this group. A ton of 70’s which are stunning looking but the 80’s also could look very good. I had a 85 with a 5.9 360, was a “Ram Wagon” which I loved, large sliding side door, and large rear door. Gives nice symmetry to how it looks. Had tons done to it. Sadly had to sell in like 2004, got a 97 high top dodge conversion but only kept for a few years. Too much gas

My personal favorites are the 60's with fat drag tires raised to the sky. I built my 69 Ford with Skyjackers with every pound of air they would hold to keep the tires off the fenders, standard portholes and killer (quadrophonic) 8 track. Was a sweet ride, until the ex-wife made me get rid of it for a RV. Damn, should have got rid of the wife- sooner.

when i was 10 years old, my sister dated..and eventually married her boyfriend that had a van..dont recall the make or year..but it had a desert mural on the side..with a group of three air horns on top, and carpeting and furniture inside..then another brother in law..in the early 80's had a custom van..still dont recall make or model..but it had a mural of the viking from molly hatchet on the side..and as a side note..when i was in my teens cruising stratford road here in winston salem n.c. there was a guy named keith who had an all blacked out van with a HUGH jack daniels logo on the side..just like the label from the bottle..
