Custom Wide-body MR2 - Vision to Reality

There have been many challenges prior to making this custom wide-body MR2 a reality and one of the most difficult tasks was the actual wide body fabrication. From the get-go, I knew that a normal TRD wide body was not going to work for me and I wanted something more.
But the process was both time consuming and frustrating, researching and finding the right places to make this more than just a pipe dream. Creating a wide-body was one thing and prepping the body for the custom paint was another.
After everything was said and done, it took 3 different shops within a 3 year period to make this custom wide-body MR2 the finished product it is today.

You've got a lot of time and money in your car. That's good! You've built yourself a very nice car to be proud of. Waiting for 2 1/2+ years would give me a ulcer. I think the MR2 is a nice car but now that I own one, I think it would be a much nicer car if it was 12"+ wider and the length was 18"+ longer from the beginning. This way the rear wheels and engine would sit further back. This would also allow for a larger storage area behind the seats. As it is, two people can't travel in it. There's no room for luggage.

Totally understand your points about widebodies and modern "over fenders", one of the reasons mine has taken so long, I'm not a master craftsman either I had to learn as I built, it takes a lot more time and work then most rocket bunny wearing Brz owners realise!

K24 is the way to go.. I prefer a 2GR turbo though much better torque.

I sold mines to get a 96 zmustang then sold that to get a 02 SAAB 9-3 SE then sold that to get a 2000 E46 sefan which I currently own.

Hey, it looks great 👍 Yeah, you spent a lot of money but its a investment. It's a hobby. You have something nice to show for your money spent. The more time and money spent on the car is less time and money you spent in a bar.

FYI, this car is not for sale. The ads you have researched are outdated for several years and has inaccurate information. But if you read the mod list carefully, even the description only mentions a handful of minor fixes that have already been updated: - remote fuel door actuator (is only if you want to use the remote has already been replaced) - engine light (already removed which is normal for a highly modified car) - scratches have already been blended and repainted - stereo works (removed the big speakers in the back as it took too much room) In any case, these are not considered major fixes for a highly modified car. Nothing worse Nothing worse than bad lines You see high end show stuff amazing paint but then them bad lines From the pics , a lot of attention was put into fit and finish. It’s funny how they whackiest off body kits / alterations on even a crap car can look good if the quality of work is good . Painting on crap doesn’t make it not crap. Makes me miss my old mr2 Want one again WIDE BODY
