Beautiful. Amazing detail, nice choices of flat vs bright finishes, subtle custom stuff like fuel pump swap for ignition, love that rear fender, nice nice nice. Excellent finish work, a real show bike. I want to do similar to mine. This from an old restorer of 40's Indian, 50's 60's 70's HDs, Nortons, and some Hondas, Suzuki, Yamaha, thinking the Roadstar is the best v-twin of em all. Half the price of an HD and double the value. HD is catching up with twin spark twenty years late, but still belt primary and timing, jeez.....

nice i just picked one up , already bobbed. The guy did a lot of custom work its beautiful he gave me a great deal . 03 road star 1600cc 60k on it. very little work needs to be done and runs just like yours in the video. cool video👍👍 never rode over a 750cc. I used to turn all my bikes in the 80s crotch rockets KZs and CBs now a cruiser with power.

Hey dude. First of all, congrats for such a neat job. I won't lie, I'm in the process of bobbing my RS and your bike is my main reference (I'm not copying though, don't worry, lots of very different things in my build but the "spirit" is pretty close). May I ask which fork gaiters you used? Trying to find some with the same look & feel than yours. Are these Daystar?
@exit98747 жыл бұрын
Thanks. No worries...getting copied is the ultimate compliment ;) But I´m afraid I dont remember where I got them. Bought them on ebay. I just measured the diamater of the forks and searched on the internet. No name gaiters that was pretty cheap
@thomasdanet38837 жыл бұрын
Alright, I'll dig deeper :P. What I really like on yours is that they are barely wider than the outer fork diameter. All I can find so far is sticking out and I really don't like it, I'm just looking to black out the front fork so I'd like something as narrow as possible. Let me know if you're intersted in seeing the build, metal work is almost finished.

Spike the Jackel The ignition coil holder is bought. The bracket in satin black with the two led lights in it is made by me. And the speedo is a daytona 200 speedometer

+philip.j Thanks for the advice & its a great looking bike you got there. I'm currently looking for an xv1600 in good condition to start a build. I may be back with more questions hehe.

+philip.j quick question on your speedo, is it's an electronic one running from the speed sensor in the transmission? Or is it an independent GPS one? Thank you
@exit98748 жыл бұрын
Electronic speedo. The speed sensor is a white cable that's in the meter assembly on top of the tank, if I remembered it correctly

Great looking bike and it's a beast on the road, I know, I have one, too. Only drawback, is you can never have a biker babe on the backseat with you.......solo riding only. If you are married, I am sure you wife is smiling about that. Cool, looking lines on the bike, though, Good job. It's a Harley eater for sure. I have a lot of fun, with Harley, 96s and 103s, chew 'em up and spit 'em out,.

Yes, but I've removed the front brackets/tabs (for the fender), and lowered them 2 inches with progressive suspension. Used Scotch brite on the chrome that shows and painted the rest black.

I like the rear fender brace and fender! I am building one of these too. I would like to know about that ignition switch. Also that cover under the seat,where is that from? Thanks!
@exit987410 жыл бұрын
Thanks It's a Harley ignition switch, dynotek coils and bracket. I made the cover myself out of fiberglass. Gonna post a video of the build later on. Will add some pics of how I made the cover if you're interested.
