I just listened to a comparison on KZbin between focal and hertz. While both sounded good in their own way I think as far as clear vocals focal was the winner. I currently have infinity Kappa series but I might try focal next time.

Idk if they would be as good as those but they are definitely better than your typical pioneer,kicker etc speakers. Infinity isn’t what they used be to be either. I’d just like to see if something sounds better far as vocals,soundstage etc.

Both manufacturers are great & arguably make some of the best speakers on the market, but we are comparing with different source & in different vehicles, so even identical make/model in each vehicle would sound different (different amp power, different EQ, different vehicle reflections, different sound dampening. different crossover etc). I run Focal, but I have heard Morel's many times & they are equally excellent.

Thanks for this. I have Focal in my E93 now (integration series) and I don't like the sound. Found out Morel makes an integration series that's more expensive. Will definitely be checking those out.

Focal are great in my experience I think they are bit to flat. They are very crisp and have a detail that other brands can’t match but they are way to flat because they lack mid base and lower growl you what I’m saying. I had focal flax in my truck and replaced them for audiofrog gb and they sound is fuller with more bass and more mids. I know I lost a bit of detail but I like the fuller sound better

I’ve heard both I on that exact set of Focals and matching rears. If you want more laid back sound and natural= Morel. Forward and alive sound Focal. At this level it’s personal preference.

You should check out the Alpine Status. Just did a 3 way up front and 2 way in the rear. They’re 1k a set but the sound is perfection.

@@Balgaz_speed yup, I’m still shocked the quality of the sound. HDZ-653 by far the best I’ve heard for that price point. I like the tweeter setup better then the usual 1” dome. Alpine tweeters look like 2” and sound clear at high volume unlike most tweeted.

The Morels sound WAY better. You can tell by how full the recording is. The Focals sound thin and bright while the Morels sound full and balanced. However this is limited by the recording of the video and there are so many other aspects to consider like EQ, placement, door treatment, etc. etc. It cant be a full comparison until all things are equal.

Morel Ultra sounds too harsh to me. I have it installed on my Innova it lacks details when I turn down the treble. But Focal Auditor that I have installed in my Ignis doesn't loose out on details if I turn down the treble. Head units are factory unit in both. Kindly suggest to improve listening experience of Morel

The Focal's are bright bright and the Morel sounded full and better balanced, and that's with the guy saying the Focal bass was heavy (I love bass, so I'd never agree with such feedback :-P). I also give it up to the BMW because the stock 4" locations suck.

Focal has different lines. These are brighter and require dsp tuning (as all good stereos should be). Focal is absolutely known for excellent midbass, so hes right on, i guarantee. Morel tends to be lifeless, although some certainly call it "laid back".

The systems were both tuned and installed by the same shop. Both cars have the same DSP. You have a point there when it comes to the same vehicles, but these guys are a couple of my best customers. None of it was planned.

Interesting, in this example, I prefer the Focal, tighter bass, and good top end clarity. I like the Morel mids better, but the mid bass is bloomy and loose. The top end lacks enough top end clarity for me (and my preference usually leans to less bright speakers...for instance, I've demoed JL and Focal side by side, and preferred the JL every time for more balanced sound).

The question will be and has always been, which company manufactures the most sonically capable product that can create and produce the most accurate and replicable frequencies through the ENTIRE range of human hearing. The comment of “it depends on the music you prefer” is ridiculous. As that can be tailed within the DSP to suite. Every speaker created tries to do this the best. So which ones can accomplish this the best? In my opinion that currently gos to the JL Audio C7’s. From 20Hz to 20,000Hz there isn’t a better speaker system. I feel Focal is right there with the C7’s, until the bridge between miss and highs comes into play. I feel their teeters are too bright and there is a gap where the mids tailer off too early and the highs begin too high. This isn’t a digital sound correction issue as much as the way the speaker themselves are engineered. Morel is outstanding and in my opinion the model supremo’s are also right there as one of the best. However I find the expense isn’t justified within the lows to mids while agreeing the piccolo is the best tweeter on Earth. But the wide range of the tweeter isn’t necessary if you have the mids doing the job correctly. But in all reality this is splitting hairs here. JLC7’s Focal Utopia or K series, and Morel Supremo are the 3 best speaker systems money can buy. The JL’s are an active system and do not have crossovers. They will need a dsp no matter what to handle the crossover points and frequency separation duties. Fine by me, as JL has an Amp line that has their DSP built into the amp with all the software. One stop shopping at its finest. The JL Audio C7 3 way system with their Amp specifically meant for them, are the best car audio system ever made and honestly that’s that.
