Isn't the goal to get repeat customers? I would think a detailer would be happy, not only is this a repeat customer, you get to charge them for a full detail each time not just maintenance. It is very surprising that you would want to cut off a customer that gives you this type of business.

I'm not sure I understand your rationale for dumping this customer... As long as you are charging the correct amount (e.g., a car that takes 3x the time/effort to detail it should cost 3x the normal cost...), I would think you'd be happy to have someone bringing in $$$ to your business -- especially if they're coming in 3-4x a year (instead of once per year). 🤔🤔🤔

I'm genuinely curious about your reasoning for not allowing this customer back. Is it because it takes away a spot from another potential customer that is new to the channel?

Also don't really understand this. Some people just have chaotic lives and do anything they can just to get through. Bro I can see if they were nitpicking about the job or something of that sort all the time but honestly if a customer is paying me to come and clean up the mess and I can charge them whatever, I'm going to keep them as a client because that's what they are paying me to do. Yes these type of vehicles can be a PITA but it's income and if you ask me that doesn't even look like the worst vehicle. I'm not going to fire a client just because they didn't keep the car up to par for 2 months. The Professional thing to do is come up with some type of more consistent maintenance plan. If they are complaining of the price then yes fire them but I just do not see any justification for firing them

One thing I’d recommend with the biobreak is to make sure you’re using an acidic rinse in your extractor (like flex ice or encapuguard Green). Put in a pump sprayer then extract if you don’t want to run chemicals through your extractors pump. Biobreak is an alkaline around 10Ph you definitely want to neutralize that or else you’ll get brown out (more pronounced on non black carpet/upholstery), soiling will come back faster or even chemical burns (rare). Encapuguard even though an expensive chemical will also leave behind protective polymers. Source I’m a professional truckmount carpet cleaner that uses these chemicals every day.

I was thinking this same thing. But if you really don't want to do it, maybe he doesn't really care for the customer be it attitude, always asking for more for less, etc., then charge a ridiculous amount that would make it well worth the headache or they refuse to pay the price you set and you go your separate ways anyhow. Either way it would be a win, win for the business and himself. Unless they're violent or screaming and yelling every time or you just can't take some offensive or disturbing nature about them, then let the customer make that business determination.

Maybe they do this so you can have a good disaster video? Or you can charge extra … this is a satisfying video so it worked out lol

This makes me sad to see how this vehicle was treated. I would charge no less than $1k for to clean the interior alone!

What is the name of that cleaner you’re using on dashboards and leather seats in the description below? You’re only showing leather cleaner can you use that in vinyl and plastics?

Vehicle owners like this love bringing homemade food to potlucks

I'd say the opposite. Lol! They can't be bothered to pick up a little trash in the car, they're bringing potluck from Costco or Trader Joe's 😂...but they might put it in their own Tupperware 😂

It's called FREEDOM. He doesn't have to do anything he doesn't want to do. These cars are very time consuming. He could probably fit in 2 customers who are less sloppy during the time it takes to do this vehicle once. You can run your detail business any way you want. He has other customers to serve and maybe he has determined that this vehicle is too time consuming. He should really consider up charging this customer to make his time worth it.

Shocked at your comments about this customer. You’re an auto detailer! And they are repeat business. And because they get their car dirty you don’t want them as a customer anymore? Hope they watch the video and then let the chips fall where they may.

I see that you sprayed the cleaning product liberally in all the dashboard, isn’t bad for the stereo to spray liquid all over it

I wouldn't care if it came in like that week to week. It's a paying customer paying for the cleaning service. You chose to be an auto detailer then nag about doing a job detailing a dirty vehicle you get paid to clean. 😅

Question I keep hearing that when you pull the seats out you damage the bolts, people are saying that said bolts are meant for one time use and pulling them compromises the safety of the seat, is this true or is it a myth?
@1stfrompuertorico568
@1stfrompuertorico568 4 ай бұрын
From experience that would be a myth since they're not a once install only. The thing to watch is that the torque spec is met when reinstalling them so the metal doesn't get warped, although that normally happens with none steel bolts, which isn't normally the case on seat bolts

I don't understand not wanting a repeat customer, BUT I also don't know the circumstances. The customers attitude could be super, super bad. No repeat customer is worth that, even a well paying one. I mean, if the customer has such a bad mindset they let an expensive, beautiful vehicle go to hell this fast, it really makes me wonder. We out here in youtube armchair land don't know exactly what led up to his decision.

I think it's a question of taking advantage of your hard work(even though they pay you) it's an excuse to be pigs and treat their vehicle like shit, because they don't have to clean it, if they had to clean their own mess, maybe they would take better care of their vehicle?? You do awesome work!

As the old saying goes....."ALL MONEY, AIN'T GOOD MONEY." Most people, when they get their car detailed take pride in it. I can understand repeat customers, but DAMN....DON'T JUST DISRESPECT MY HARD WORK LIKE THAT! Now you know that don't make no sense! 🤔😤

Yeah those wireless chargers never work. I thought I heard somewhere that the type of chargers they use in cars are not built for "fast charging," and because most modern phones are now "fast charging" phones, the connection never works. Who knows if that's really the case... all I know is that the charging pad in my car doesn't do squat for my phone.

I always despise it when a SUV comes in. It's amazing how much people pay for these rigs, then trash it! They have all this money, yet won't buy all season mats, or protection over the seats to keep the kids spills off the interior. They always have a dog too. Or tons of beach sand in the back. Ive been detailing for 23 years now and still don't understand some people.
