0:00 Intro
0:05 The mechanic thinks that the previous owner knew about this and got rid of the car right away as they knew the issue was going to be a headache. A good reason to get a mechanic/technician to inspect a vehicle before purchasing it from a private seller or a dealership. When the core plug (also known as the frost plug), blew out it filled the oil pan with coolant and the previous owner and new owner kept driving like that which made this cheese whiz-type oil in the engine. I talked to a mechanic in the UK who worked on this exact engine and said most of the time the engine needs to be replaced after this happened due to overheating, but sometimes you get lucky and can just install new core plugs and clean/flush the engine.
0:26 Vehicle is a diesel Land Rover which requires diesel exhaust fluid (known as AdBlue), but not in the engine. First time seeing a customer put DEF (diesel exhaust fluid) in an engine. If you get lucky and catch it in time you could flush the engine a number of times, but this customer drove it until the engine shut off.
0:39 Sunglasses making a rattling noise.
0:51 The customer's insurance paid to get a used transmission installed. This is a 2011 Hybrid Escalade so the technician said the price for a used transmission was close to 4k at the time this was filmed. This requires a different transmission compared to one that is non-hybrid.
1:14 The mechanic thinks that a car wash did this possibly when they recently cleaned the customer's car. They are unsure exactly who put it there, however, it was an easy fix.
1:25 Not sure who the "other shop" was, but they left the spring compressor tools on the coil springs when they installed them.
1:33 They think the customer left a bag of fish in the back after fishing which leaked water and fish everywhere since they had found a fishing rod in the back of the SUV.
1:44 Hatch of this Hyundai Santa FE that sounds like Chewbacca.
1:49 "Update: new BCM, TDM, column harness, ignition switch, key, and brake switch."
2:03 An important reminder to upgrade the internals of your engine when adding forced induction to it. A stock engine will only last for so long.
2:16 Phone mount the customer added after the instrument cluster was replaced made the noise.
2:26 Not the best way to replace a module underneath the carpet.
The carpet was left in that condition.
2:36 "Someone has probably told him if he puts a car seat in it won't get tested. I've had numerous customers tell me this before. Not sure why but hopefully that was the reason for the unsecured child seat."
2:49 Happened at a Gas station in Italy. They encountered this on the camera a day later after it happened.
2:59 Outro. Thanks for watching!

My boss has a Range Rover and the thing had like 15 thousand miles and it already needed brakes all the way around including rotors, they were gonna charge him like 1800 dollars so i told him i could buy the parts he needed (quality stuff) and if he would give me 100 bucks and pay for the parts i would do the job for him, ended up costing like 500 bucks, hes a really good boss so i help him when i can, reason I'm bringing this up is because that was my first encounter with those damn dumb emergency brake levers you mention in your comment. I actually had to take the rear brake calipers apart to disable the system (dealer uses a very expensive computer),there is no need for all this nonsense, a cable would work just fine, i also found out that Land Rover has this insane method of bedding the pads when new that made me suspicious why the brakes were shot at such low miles,i dont care if its a Ferrari or a Yugo, you put new pads and you drive the car moderately first few hundred miles,no panic stops or riding the brakes and the pads will bed beautifully, not rocket science.

Ah yes, the dreaded "rattle/squeak" complaint. I worked at a Ford dealer for a while, many decades ago, and it was always a techs most hated complaint to try and diagnose. 99% of the time it ended up being something that the vehicle owner had done and not an actual manufacturing flaw. And 98% of the time, the customer was just as mad or madder that it turned out to be their own fault.

@@101Volts If people in the UK were making dual-purpose inflators and fire extinguishers, then the Brits are far dumber than I imagined. Making a Fire Extinguisher dual-use invites all kinds of silly consequences that means that they won't be available to put out a fire when you need them to put out a fire. The whole point of the extinguisher is that it has one use, and it sits there waiting for an emergency situation.

This century most big diesels (Trucks, etc..)also have a tank of blue fluid (mostly urea) that gets sprayed into the the exhaust manifold to reduce exhaust emissions. Some governments now also require DEF (diesel exhaust fluid) systems installed on small diesels, so very late model diesel cars and off road vehicles now have a DEF tank that must be filled for the engine to run. I did not want to waste money chasing electronic gremlins in my 2004 Envoy. Daytime running lights module replaced with 16 gauge wire and two 30 amp relays. Dash climate control system. Took it apart and removed all the doors. The hot / cold works. Probably because I only changed it twice a year. Dash gauges, speedo and rpms sometimes work. That is what dipsticks and Volt/Olm meters are for, I guess. I use the windows for that in-between the annual climate change. Not exactly fond of the placement for that. I take keys with me now. Small dog likes to ride. The lock button fits her paw perfectly. But GM en gen earing fixed that in the Trax. If you like buffering noise. It became a added feature when you use the window temperature control method. The seat also sucks for long rides. Someone different must have designed the headlight controller because it is original and still works. Can't say the same about the wipers. Got to take the dash apart AGAIN to fix that. The only part of the body control module that works is the radio. The door lock and alarm still works. Guess could not find a way to F that up. Everything I drove between 1959 and 1979 model years NEVER had any of these problems. Convenience to me is the following. It starts. It rolls. It stops when you step on the brakes. The transmission transmits motion. The AM and FM radio works. (Remember those things?) Heat in the winter and cool in the summer. Oh and the seats are comfortable after 200 miles of rollin. Guess K.I.S.S. it is not well known by GM engineering anymore. Or any other manufacture. Oh why only have a door key lock only on one side of it? Oh wait that is what a key fob is for. Of course that assumes the batteries work. Don't park it for three weeks and expect it to start or open. It is more than customer dummy up going on. Oh and if you want avoid the evap canister or fuel pump replacement. Never less than 1/4 tank or more than a bit more than 3/4 full. I don't have time time to explain the en gin ear ring on that. Yes I have done mechanical and electrical. Even sat through a few or more college math and science courses. Also slycology until I figured out people are either just lazy or crazy. Sometimes both.

I remember years ago I had a rattle from my front driver-side wheel but only at low speeds (97 F-250) Got under it, checked everything out, NOTHING was wrong, but still a rattle. Long story short it was a tiny pebble that somehow got into my center hub cap! At higher speeds it would stick to the outside due to centrifugal force. Man that drove me nuts for like a week checking things from the bearings, brake shields, to anything I could think of. Even decent mechanics can be fooled by random sounds. ALSO In my defense when I take the cap off I put the lug nuts in it so I didn't notice it rattle then. And when you tip it back over to get the lugs out the pebble gets caught in the outer rim! Then back on the truck to drive down the road only to hear it again.
