Very true. Here's the thing, though. I worked at a Vons 15 years ago and all of these training "tips" are spot-on to what shift and store managers expect of every employee. Even the cashiers. You're supposed to take any downtime you have, or every time you walk through the store to familiarize yourself with the layout, and where you can buy every single item. It makes no sense, but it's all part of that package.
