I've never known builders be so clueless as when they drive into a builders yard. I've lost count of the number of times they park next to my trailer that is clearly being tipped or loaded. Fork truck blocked one in once with a pallet. The builder told me to move, basically he wanted me to strap up and drive out the yard so he could get out. Strangely forky took a bit longer to tip me. Builder had been asked to move but refused saying "I'll only be a minute". 10 min later he came back to try and get out.

I used to do store deliveries to a well known American burger chain with a goldem M. Cars used to park with their bonnet under the tail lift while I was preparing cages.

I’ve just watched the video that A41 closure is a nightmare. Took a tanker through a few weeks ago. Ended up getting people out the pub to move their cars!! So we( there were 2 milk tankers) could get through. The other drivers satnav lost signal and we took a right and should have gone left🤗🤣😂🤣🤗 all good though in the end no harm done- surprised there are no diversion signs still

10:27 that’s typical of van drivers. They think they MUST been seen to first and will park wherever they like regardless of what’s going on in the yard. I’ve had courier drivers park right next to a curtain sider I was actively loading, as well as park right in front of the shutter doors I was going in and out of while loading. They’re bloody ignorant!

Max has had a fantastic drive. Best driver on the grid in my opinion. Why would I cry? 😂 I’m not one of these fans who gets upset when my team/driver doesn’t win. lol It was a fantastic race by max, a special podium for my local team Alpine and yes a rubbish race for McLaren Overall it’s been a wild and interesting race. One you’d watch back in the future 💪🏻

Hi Luke, lately I've been considering a career change and maybe getting my HGV Class 1 licence as there's a lot of aspects of the job I like the look of. One thing HGV driving seems to have in common with my current job is that the length of day can vary, however, in my industry it's not the norm to give overtime for a longer day. I hope you don't mind me asking but was just wondering if you're predicted to have an 8, 9 or 10 hour day but it ends up being 12 hours or more due to traffic or/and delays with tipping or loading, does that extra time get acknowledged and overtime paid or is it considered just to be one of those things? Thanks for the entertaining vids!
@Sammyboy199116 күн бұрын
@@ap0lll0 depends on the company. If you have an hourly rate then you’ll get paid the hours you work, so if you work 14 hours you’ll get 14 hours pay. Some companies have daily rates though where its might just be a fixed rate of £140 per day regardless the hours you work. Of course HGV drivers can only work 15 hours maximum though.
@Nickbaldeagle0216 күн бұрын
My job pays £20 an hour, time anarf after 40 hours, time and three quarters after 50 hours. Generally 8 to 12 hours a day, home to bed 🛏️ every night 🌃.

@@Nickbaldeagle02 Thanks Nick, those sound like really good rates compared to the jobs I've seen posted. I'm guessing you've either done it for quite a while or/and have ADR or some extra skills like HIAB or something? Great to know there are jobs out there like that!

Just a question for you Luke , as a retired class 1 driver of 45 years just like to know if you ever use the POA mode on your tacho.
@lukecinahgv17 күн бұрын
Yes of course mate. Always used to used it when on containers and I knew I’d be sitting around for hrs. Obviously only legally allowed to use it if you know you’re be waiting around in advance, most places i go to, okay I’m waiting around but the key thing is I don’t know how long for.
@LostSoulNo30128117 күн бұрын
@@lukecinahgvI was a class 2, multi-drop driver for nearly 3 years before giving it up, and I never really thought about or truly knew about POA as it would have come in handy on more than one occasion when I was literally waiting to be loaded/unloaded outside of a break and I wasn’t actually doing anything other than sitting in the cab waiting. Like one time I only had one job left, a collection, but it was booked for 2pm(which they wouldn’t release any earlier), and all my other deliveries and collections were completed by 11:15am, then I was on 45 minute break, after which all I was doing was sitting in the cab on a business park waiting for 2pm. And this was in a route where I was regularly having driving/working time issues due to distance from the depot and work load. Just another reason I’m glad all that is behind me.
@Nickbaldeagle0216 күн бұрын
I've never touched it. If I'm sitting waiting watching a KZbin video like I'm doing right now, it goes on break.

Always enjoy the vids and feel like you’re a great human being. Just a little comment and it’s not a dig. You seem to sweat the small stuff a little, that van didn’t really cause any form off issues did it. They moved and you got unloaded, I know you need thumbnail and title stuff but just seems a bit like an over exaggeration of the truth. But what do I know
