I was not expecting to see a blow torch being used in the engine bay to remove a pulley. I was leaning towards having the shop replace my water pump but this moved the needle way the other way. Thanks for the upload!

This is an excellent video. The camera is in a rigid fixed position, not all over the place like some I have seen. Your video walked me step by step right through this repair. I have an 06 DTS. I ended up cutting that bearing off with the Dremel tool, which you mentioned in the video. I just cut a slot the width of the blade, being very careful not to touch the shaft. Anyways, thank you, nice job.

Wow, my man, you have much to learn. You really should have replaced the seal while you were there. Please turn the shaft on that puller, hold the rest and make sure you press the pulley on flush with the end of the shaft. This belt will wear prematurely because it will not line up correctly. Please reserve that torch for when you are soldering copper pipe.

Need to order a tensioner pulley piece? Is it possible to help

you was using the removal tool incorrectly, it comes off in less than a minute if you'd used a 16mm wrench and turned towards the windshield

Took me 30 seconds with a cordless impact and a 19 on the puller bolt

Even I can read the directions to use it in my Cadillac. I am shocked at all this. I love my Satin. I would rather junk her than treat her this way. @@mrmagiq216

What is this guy scared of? TURN THOSE WRENCHES the first time. Put a pipe on one of em and force that wrench to turn. If it pops the tool, oh well, but it probly wont.

Lube that pusher screw! And use those muscles! It's doubtful that heat was needed.
@partsshooter7 ай бұрын
Better safe than sorry not using heat, it came off easier! I need to update that tool anyway

Wow, you had trouble because you don't have enough leverage with them little open end wrenches. You didn't even use a rachet or breaker bar on the end of the pully tool. Pressed on pullies are supposed to be that tight and I'm pretty sure the pully puller tool centers itself but hey, you got her done like a cave man.

I changed my pulley years ago with the same tool and no directions, it took me all of an hour or so to figure it out, I definitely didn't use no freakin blow torch, it was easy, crank it right off, then put the new one on in reverse and crank it right on, I don't even see why he uploaded this video like he was doing it right, dumb ass mechanic, hope u got another job besides this one
