its one of them things you might never need to do but then maybe you do come across it, do you send the car to the garage or do it yourself. Chris always makes it seem easier because he breaks it down but also shows you differences, but when you think about it these things really aren't that hard to do maybe just awkward at times in cramped spaces etc...

Quick tip, put a jack under the front of the vehicle and take the pressure off the wheels. It's a lot easier to turn that way. Also, if you get some air trapped in there, like the Dodge/Chrysler setups like to do(particularly the old Cummins trucks), you may have to turn the wheel lock to lock without the engine running first to push some of that air out. Good luck all! Thanks Chris! Another great video!

The thing I like the most about Chris is that he actually takes time to read and respond to most comments. Hey Chris, just wanted to thank you for your videos! Your info is short and to the point. You don't wonder off about who invented the wheel or about the history of the car. Stuff that has nothing to do with your video. The majority of mechanics or DIYers on KZbin drift off the topic of the video, you don't do that! You stay on topic and to the point! Thank You and keep them coming! Blessings

"...about who invented the wheel ..." Sorry, had to snicker at this a little, considering how many wheels (incl. gears, pulleys, and the impeller core) are actually in this video and at least partially related to the process. More than even the average car repair video, I think. Also noting Chris coming back to read and comment two years later. Very nice.

Time is running short. Biblical prophecies are happening before our very eyes. People tend to stumble across the prophecies. If you noticed maybe even your TikTok feed is now being filled with more Christian TikToks. I don’t know who needs to hear this but it’s time to turn to Jesus Christ now. The Rapture is coming faster than ever. Get to know Christ today, get saved. God loves you so much he sent his only son Jesus to die on the cross for us . This isn’t about “Religion” anymore it’s about knowing Christ before it’s too late.

Great video. The exact same thing happened on my car, which is exactly the same car as in this video. But one comment, once you have even a little bit of forward speed, there's almost no difference between power steering on/off in E46's. This is why they have such great road feel, you are getting almost direct feedback from the wheels. It just helps out when you're stopped and trying to park. And yes, turning at a stop without PS is a workout. My GF liked me better when the PS was broken. Oh well.

Chris goes to great lengths to make his projects accessible, using the simplest tools and methods whenever possible. The fact that he does his projects on an imperfect, aged residential driveway, and not in a shop with smooth epoxy floor a lift and 50,000 watts of flourescent lighting, is an extension of that same spirit of accessibility and achievability. Chris is smart not to upgrade himself out of an audience.

Thank you, Chris. Honestly, thank you so much. In no small part, you are responsible for me methodically and slowly fixing small issues in my cars that only a few years ago I would have definitely paid a mechanic to fix. There are still bigger issues I go to a mechanic for. But that line is slowly moving up. Just literally yesterday I decided to check the vacume lines for my turbo before I sent the car to a mechanic to fix the turbo. Sure enough, there was a leak and all it took were two tubes of shrinkwrap over a small cut. (I'll change the line if it becomes a problem again.) I know for a fact that even half a year ago, I didn't have the courage, know how or self trust required to even attempt to check what could be wrong with a turbo. I know that, because the turbo has been acting funky for half a year before I finally gathered the courage to actually check it myself, thanks to youtubers like you, showing that fixing a car doesn't require years of experience or all specialty tools.
