Customise your bobber AT HOME! Thornton Hundred seat/number plate mount tutorial

Welcome back to the channel, quite a few of you guys have been asking for a tutorial/guide on how to fit our custom seat mount and numberplate mount for the Triumph Bobber; with the wonderful help from our Thornton Hundred ambassador Courtney, we have done exactly that!

For this build you will need:
Ratchet
T50 Torx
10m Spanner
12mm Socket
17mm Socket
20mm Socket
1.5mm Allen key
5mm Allen key
Torque settings:
Seat mounts to frame 47 Nm
Seat to seat frame 38 Nm
Fuel tank 30 Nm
Rear axle nut 110 Nm

I was searching for a new bike to get, the sport bike style got old really quick. I’ve always loved the bobber look and I’d be lying if I said your videos and builds didn’t pull towards the triumph bobber. Hopefully I get mine this week! An interesting kit for easy modification of the appearance, but there is a question about fastening the license plate light wire. Fastening it from the bottom of the pendulum, with double-sided tape, and even with such a sagging wire, is very doubtful. I have watched many of your videos, I am delighted with your work. I hope this video is just a promo of what is possible, and not a finished work. Well, and the girl again))

Great video, thank! The music, however, is not only unnecessary but after a couple relentless minutes of it I found way too obnoxious and I had to turn off the volume which was unfortunate because I was enjoying your voices and explanations. Maybe a little music while removing bolts, etc. but not while you are talking. What you are saying and doing is quite interesting enough. Thanks!

Guys thanks for the video.... what does the new seat bracket bring? Would also love if you guys have something in the pipeline regarding a USB power supply & phone mount package. With corresponding install video.... not all of us are knowledgeable enough to want to cut into the electronics wiring just to add a phone charger and mount.

Our seat mount tail tidy removes the need to the chunky looking rear mud guard, housing the break lights and indicators in one. As for the phone mount that is something we offer unfortunately we don't offer a usb charger

I noticed you used a socket wrench to undue the seat bolts , mine are totally solid , I have the torx hand Allen key , but can't get them to move , been thinking of using a manual impact wrench , any Ideas that I can do at home before I go to a mechanic....cheers

Can you make the number plate mobile ? (Move in a forward or backward direction) as you know if you pass to close to a car you could bend the number plate ,but if you fit it with a return spring it will return to it's original position . Hope you understood my idea ,I'm not an engineer but with your expertise you could figure it out . Take care on the road mate 👍👍👍

Hi... I have an axle mounted license plate holder on my Harley Breakout. If you pass close enough to a car to hit the license plate holder, you would have already hit your handlebars, footpeg, and your leg on the car. The license plate holder doesn't stick out nearly as far as other things on that side of the bike. You'll be fine 👍🏾

I feel like I’m squeezing the fuel connect really hard on both sides and lifting up but it won’t budge. I have the locking collar pushed all the way back…should it be excessively difficult if this is my first time removing the tank?

I've taken the seat mount off without the need of removing the gas tank. Why is that neccessary?

Mainly so you don't damage the tank but also it partially covers the seat mount bolt.👌🏼

@@ThorntonHundredMotorcycles I can assure you everything is ok on my end. There is sound in both left and right but there is only speech in the left. If I listen to your Q&A at your new premises on the couch outside that has the speech in stereo left right. I think you must have one of the following 1. Faulty mic. 2. Faulty cable. 3. Faulty connector. 4. When editing and adding the music, there may be a setting where you are adding music to the right and speech to the left. 5. Maybe a setting has changed. This has only happened recently in the last 3-4 videos. Genuinely trying to help you.

@@ThorntonHundredMotorcycles Something is off, there is a 15db difference in left and right speech volume and it is only on your recent videos, this doesn't follow to anything else on anything i watch or listen to musically and also whatever equipment i use to listen with. The intro music sounds perfectly in balance and then boom 15db loss with speech on the right. I realise this seems trivial but there will be some people who will really struggle with this if they are hearing impaired, i will say i am but this is also not the reason why it sounds the way i am describing, i can also see it on my decibel meter on the audio signal i am receiving from your video, before it outputs to my amplifier. I do appreciate you listening to me all the same and i hope you do find something which may be off in some way.

@@ThorntonHundredMotorcycles I can switch you into mono so that left and right signals are summed together into a single audio source which plays equally and i guess if everything appears ok on your side you too are also listening in mono and not stereo. It is a solution i can do to not have the problem but also not everyone will be able to do this.
