I wish I could had seen this tutorial a few month prior when I just started geometry node because the way you introduce every functionality is really perfect for beginners, a gold mine ! Instead of having a collection with the same chain-link rotated wouldn't it have been simpler to have a single one and apply a rotation after. (a switch base on the index modulo 2 does the trick). Also that's not very important but you can use the curve to points node, instead of the resample curve node, which directly incorporate the curve tangent as an output.

Heya, MR King! I've bought your product and yeah it was a cool work, I like it. But there is an missing component in the geonode. Complex to apply at the end. Without the "realize instances" u can't convert to mesh 'cause it disappears and can't even apply it with a "normal" way(CTRL-A). May I ask u to fix it? Thanks MR!

How do I convert my result into a static mesh? When I try to convert the path to a mesh, the whole chain disappears.

I think you need to add the "realize instances" node, at the end of the node setup. then you can apply the geometry nodes to a mesh.

In nodes, is it possible to have the links going round a circle for example, or a triangle, instead of a curve shape?

Sure. For a circle, just create a circle curve (shift-a -> curves) and apply the node modifier shown here. In a triangle, corners might get messy, so better use 3 straight curves and align them until everything fits nicely. Also, resampling bezier curves sometimes creates awkward results. Nurbs path works way better.

Hello, sorry for the trouble, but for some reason my Collection Info node, or is it Instance on point node, doesn't seem to want to pick one chain object and then the other, when I check the Reset Children box and it always stick to the first chain object in the group no matter how many times I retry it or even rest the whole thing. Any suggestions on how to fix it?

Maybe you have solved your problem but you have to rotate chains in edit mode. If you rotate this in object mode it won't work, I don't know why.

maybe apply the scale of the objects? Or scale them down with the scale values on the instance on points node.

Thanks for purchasing. Yeah, I tried that too, and blender crashed for me as well. I recommend upgrading to the latest blender version, because you are using an outdated blender version. When using the latest version, it does not crash.
