The neck was pretty simple but I ended up having to remove the whole suit and lengthen the pants as they kept pulling out of the boot which was stressful!😂 Thankfully it worked out ok in the end! Thanks for the tutorial video as it definitely helped!

Another great custom video. Dude, thanks for sharing this process. I do have that figure on pre-order and have debated cancelling a few times, due to my excitement dying down after the long wait as well as the mixed reviews. I think I'll go ahead and let it go through. As for customizing, I'll make my final decision when I get him, but I may try the hot glue neck adjustment. I might be okay with the collar, but I do have two McFarlane figures... I could always use the collar from the one with the plastic cape. Paint touch-ups are always on the table for me. I feel like those are the easiest way to bring a figure with potential to life.

Amazing work.. the stumpy thing i think from the way you had the figure in the beginning was the belt was sitting low.. you can see the seam from the pants and upper body. Pushing that up helps the proportion immensly.. the collar would prob be my biggest complaint tho.
@Ibrahim_M5 ай бұрын
Thanks! I actually tried moving the belt first-- I recorded a whole bit about it and how tight the thigh straps are and they keep pulling the belt back down, but the video was so long already that I cut that part out, because in the end, it looked a little better but didn't correct the problem fully like I wanted.

Hello Moustafa. DHL finally dropped the figure at my door yesterday. I love how it looks, except the glaring misfires from Messco. Can you help a brother out? Ok, here's the thing, the figure is extremely tight but I know the heat here (where I live) will eventually loosen it up; the issue: the soft goods on the right leg are placed at an angle. When I took it outta the box the pelvis to thigh joint was turned inward, warping the fabric more than usual. Whenever I try to get the leg up, it goes off to the left. I didn't think much of it until the upper part of the boot unaligned with the main boot. The inverted U on the upper boot is not aligning with the boot unless I adjust the leg by pulling the whole thing to the left. It's looks a lot awkward with the boot 'cut' going left and the boot, to the right or center. I know the upper boot part can be moved around but it's too tight on mine and does not budge. Would you suggest heating it and moving the upper boot part to align with the articulation, and to keep the inverted U inline with the boot tongue? Please say yes :) If not, is there any other way to get the boot straight no matter how I pose it? I stretch my Mezcos to the max. I'm aware you don't have time, and hence I'm willing to wait. If you have something simple in mind then please do let me know. I'm unable to return/exchange because I don't live in the US or HK. I'd really appreciate your time and trouble if you decide to help me out without boot camping the cut ;) bad joke. Nevertheless, thank you for reading this long a comment and also for an anticipated response. Kind regards, z from Silvertown And oh, keep walking Moustafa... A brother in need (if I may).
@Ibrahim_M18 күн бұрын
@@zuhairvazir338hey Zuhair! I think I’m understanding the situation- it sounds like maybe the pant leg is sewn/glued in a twisted position at the point where the peg plugs into the upper boot. So yeah, I would heat up that top boot piece (dunk it in hot water for a minute or two rather than a blow dryer), remove it, and adjust the positioning of the pant leg. I hope that helps!

I agree 100% on Mezco, they are definitely hit or miss and the main issue is the base bodies they use. That most recent comic Superman was my eye opener, it was so badly proportioned and stumpy. I found myself tinkering with it over and over trying to like it, until I just started buying 3rd party Supes and customizing my own. Recently, I picked up the Psertoys version which from the neck down was really good, and I now use a neck peck from an aliexpress MezKO fig and the actual Mezco Superman heads (Because those were great) on it and that is my best soft goods Superman now. So you got those disappointments, but then they absolutely knock it out of the park with the TMNT release...sigh... They giveth and they taketh away...
@Ibrahim_M5 ай бұрын
You're absolutely right-- I got that Superman and it's been sitting in the tin since it arrived because I decided I would probably just use it for parts. I gotta look up the Psertoys version-- sounds like you found the perfect balance!

Thank you, dude!!! I'm glad it was helpful! I'm thinking it might be possible to just fill the bottom of the boot-sleeve pieces with hot glue for a bit of added height, and then just pop the ankle pegs up into the glue (basically how I did the neck). I'm helping a friend with his and I'm gonna try that and see if it works. Here's a link to the tiny eye brushes: amzn.to/4d18rnY The others that I use are just a cheap craft store multipack!

You or anyone shouldn't have done this for a $125 figure, just to make the figure looks right

Absolutely!

proportions are the dealbreaker for me tho ultimately

All that stuff you did with the collar you really didn’t have to do that. All I did was take the cape off than the collar, put the cape back on with the collar on top of it. Gives the same effect and less work.

The whole point of the project was to make the figure look more accurate. Doing what you’re describing works, but is not accurate to how he looked in the movie, which is why I didn’t do it that way.

if you ever make a Batman v Ninja turtles figure you'll integrate the turtles to the Bat zone

Haha possibly!

@@Ibrahim_M idk if I should sell it or not because the McFarlane one and Mafex are just proportioned better. I need to watch your McFarlane video to see if I can mod a few things.

There’s one coming out from FondJoy that looks really good, too. I believe it’s McFarlane scale.

"How do you do that when your whole business is making tiny human people?" hahaha Well sorry you had to go through all that. Sure does look better now! Maybe after some time has passed the extra struggles will turn in to a fun story and it'll make you not as resentful. Maybe.

😂😂😂 thank you very much! Honestly it’s already something I enjoy now. A lot of people have reached out to say how helpful they found this, so I’m very grateful that it’s turned into a net positive 🙏🏼🙌🏼

Jesus man blue tac would have worked just fine VS hot glue 😬
@Ibrahim_M3 ай бұрын
No. Hot glue provides structure and rigidity. Blue tac is just sticky. Big difference.
