I never used this for frames. I just used this because the smoke keeps covering the people, making me blind to the rest as they keep shooting at me

Pretty sure I mention in the video that it does not save you many frames and is best used to make gameplay less visually cluttered.

the folder now contains 7 txt files, you can do the exact same thing with them you don't need to change them into ctx or anything like that

a problem with this is that the engineer metal cost for teleporters will be 125 metal dont be confused teleporters still cost 50 metal but if you have less that 125 metal you cant build your teleporter if your using this no explosions pack

I can click on show apps that can open this file and if you have notepad ++ open click on it and if your using windows 10 there should be a notepad program click on that one

Down in the thread a guy made this script for all wepons. I would suggest adding the airstrike to the folder or just everyting if u dont like bullet tracers.

you dont actually need a custom hud, you just need to create a folder called whatever you want, then make a folder called "scripts" and drag in the files, hoped this helped if you dont like custom huds or you just prefer the default.

I'm pretty sure that if the community server is set to Halloween mode or if it's a full moon event, the custom explosion is always overridden by the yellow "event" explosion effect. There is no way that I know of to fix this.

How can you make the nosmoke script change color? Also the appearance of it? I don’t really like how there’s like little lines from the center of the flash. And i see videos where the nosmoke script is yellow and just an orb and no lines.

***** Consistency is often a product of work and time put into something. It's not something you can really attain without putting in the hours. That being said, outside of simply playing more, you can make sure you're as comfortable as possible in your playing space (how you're sitting, where your arm/wrist is, etc.), find a comfortable sensitivity and build your muscle memory, and just relax and enjoy yourself while you improve. It's also very important to challenge yourself to keep from plateauing; playing different classes, game modes and facing off against good players is the best way to go about it.

Jbird Thanks for replying, and sounds good to me. I feel I have trouble though, getting to my best takes at least 20 matches/pubs. I have to hold out from lobbies simply because it takes me 4 hours everyday to get to my peak ability. I have no idea why. but if it's what you say it is "more hours = consistency" then no problem! also could I ask what monitor you use?

***** No matter how long you play, almost everybody needs some time to warm up. Playing more allows that warmup to take less time and makes both your base and peak ability higher. And I use an Asus VG248 monitor.

When I click the link "this" in the page it leads me to MEGA to download it and the file name is explosions_original and there is no folder saying nosmoke. The folder explosions_original contains the things you need to paste in the folder nosmoke. What do I do? Also I don't have a custom hud. EDIT: The description leads to the folder to paste the contents of the explosions folder and there are instructions on how to do the script on the page. So I think I don't need help now. Great video! I would like to see more on how to install other mods. EDIT AGAIN: The instructions say to put it by going to (folders to get from programs x86 to tf) custom/my_custom_stuff/scripts. Do I make the my custom stuff and scripts folder? Because that is what Im gonna do. EDIT FOR THE LAST TIME: Just made my own folders and when I played the game the explosion smoke is still there. So I need help with the folders.

Feel free to add me so we can discuss this more easily. My steam id is in the about section of my KZbin channel. Also, I believe the custom explosion mod is overridden by any servers running the "full moon" or Halloween effects, that cause the explosion to be yellowish. So make sure that's not the issue.

hey man, I had the exact same problem the other day. The file may be outdated or something. I talked to a friend of mine with the same no smoke type and he has another different one! It works for me and I dont believe a custom hud is required:) www.mediafire.com/file/3a667ebbzict938/smoke.vpk. Directions: go to ProgramFiles>Steam>Steamapps>Common>TeamFortress2>tf>custom(make a new folder called custom if you dont have one already) and put it in there! Let me know how it goes without a custom hud...again i have one but it should work without one.

lol are you implying that the script is somehow making your teleporter cost more metal...? Sadly I don't know if the script even does work anymore, and if it doesn't I would have no clue how to fix it. There are a few comments in the section below that may help you. But I can guarantee that if it isn't working, nothing will be changed in-game other than you will have normal explosion smoke.

Hey jbird, (nevermind my name) how do you make your windows desktop look retro, like the windows NT look on the taskbar? I kind of want to make my pc look retro too and does it improve performance?

There was a setting in Windows 7, which I was using when I made this video, that allowed you to go into your desktop personalization settings and change the Theme to Classic. This gave the 'retro' look you're referring to, and I think it may have had incredibly minor improvements in your performance. You can't select Classic in Themes for Windows 10, and there are no Themes that give performance increases. The best option is to choose one of the "High Contrast" Themes and see if you like the aesthetic of any of those, otherwise not much can be done.
