Hey Bryan what do you think is the best way to connect the transmitter to the 1st stage ? direct or with a 6 inch hose ? pro , cons thank you

Great question @naa62. Its a 50 / 50 toss up here in our area. 50 % of our divers choose to connect it directly to the first stage while the other 50 % use a short 6 inch hose so that it doesn't stick out. Personally, on my doubles, I have a transmitter for my Ratio Dive Computer and it is connected directly to my first stage and it is routed down and out. Because of the first stages I use when diving doubles, it allows me to connect it without the need for a short hose, and it is well protected. Some of our Sidemount divers who use a transmitter will route their transmitters out the top of their first stage, and it is usually connected directly to the first stage as well. The will always back it up with standard pressure gauge which is attached by a short 6 inch hose and routed straight down the cylinders. I would evaluate your first stage and see what options are the best for you. Just remember, if you add a hose, you will need a high pressure spool as well.

I'm so sure she will love it! 🫶 I would recommend to keep the Mares smart as a back up divecomputer, because of the fact it has a user replaceable battery, it's perfect as a back up. I use my Mares smart also as back up. But if she as already a back up, what would you think about to give the Smart to your secound daughter or something like a give away. 😯

Hello @benheckendorn2696, so far she has loved the Sirius. She is backing it up with the Mares Quad Air, as I updated to the Mares Quad CI. I have been testing both the Mares CI and the Ratio IX3M GPS Deep for the last several months. I have already sold her Mares Smart Air to one of our newer students. It made a great computer for them.
