Steel is heavier than aluminum. But a 1 ton truck outweighs a 3/4 ton truck and the diesel engine sitting in the super dootie is heavier than the gas engine in the white truck. If you want to say a supercharger is instant torque okay but that diesel is supposed to have twice the torque and Diesels are supposed to make stump pulling torque right off idle so don't forget to mention the rest of the facts about torque.

@@noneofya6503 not fully upgrade it. When you run bigger tires, you're supposed to regear the differentials and upgrade the driveshafts. Putting that big of a wheel and tire setup on stock gears and driveshafts is only asking for a failure. In the video, the driveshafts are working way harder than they can handle cuz the gears in the diff are likely stock which makes it that much harder to turn those big ass wheels.

It's physics. The drop hitch on the Ford started lifting the rear end. If it was flipped and being pulled at a downward angle most likely a different result.

Height is always an advantage. The drop hitch was added to keep the strap level. I doubt the drop hitch did anything to be the reason ford lost.

The strap was level so no truck was being pulled up or down. Neither one had a height advantage

Rewind the video the hitch are equal height so if anything the Ford was being pulled downward which should have made the rear squat and grip ..

Physics. Yes the were equal but the connect point (receiver) is higher. It creates a lever affect. Which lifts the rear of the taller truck. Rewatch it. You can see the rear of the Ford come up. Conversely had they gone receiver to receiver the Chevy would have l8ft because the Ford is taller.

@@danhornaday7319 you're trying to overthink this whole thing. Yes the drop hitch creates that lever effect but it's so small that it doesn't make a difference in the outcome. The Ford slipped first which is already a loss and when he regained traction, he snapped the front driveshaft taking away half of the drive wheels. Quit trying to make excuses about things that don't make any difference. I've always said that a tug if war is always about the driver and traction. This case is no different. The driver broke traction which in turn broke parts and then got dragged. No excuses. He had the weight advantage and then blew it

KAY KAY not sure if they can market it as high strength steel if it’s really just a steel alloy🤷‍♂️ probably has to do with the fact that the angle the torque was applied to the driveshaft actually caused a larger force than the driveshaft was designed for
