Looks great. Been thinking of doing mine for a long time. I roadrace also, so go through some plastic bodywork now and then, that also needs paint. Have been using cans for that

Turned out pretty cool. Couple tips from my custom painting times, take a look at a contraption called flakebuster. You'll reduce the 2h flake spraying with the constant shaking and clogging to ONE MINUTE, and I'm not exaggerating, one minute you got your flake in there, with virtually zero flake wastage. And to avoid paint creep under your lines, when you got your design put some intercoat clear in your airbrush or a minigun and chase the tape lines,this way you'll seal any gaps if there's one and if some creeps under it'll be transparent and invisible, avoids those lovely moments you're untaping to find black overspray all over your supposedly silver or candy graphics..Another thing that could take your work a step further is a couple stencils, you have a plotter already for stickers, cut a few effects stencils to lightly spray over your candies or pearls, only takes a few minutes and looks so much more work was done in the end,an expat effect over that purple fading away would look sick

It looks amazing. I wonder, is there any noticeable difference in weight, with so many layers of paint?

Little retro look about it I reckon. Killer job. Have you done much airbrushing using Concept? I’m keen to pick my first airbrush setup soon and I have a few NoMix colours to play around with but don’t know if I’ll run into any issues

@@cpzmelbs they are great for airbrushing. Just thin them out to suit.

There must be so many hours that go in to making a design like this perfect. How many hours do you think you have into that lid?

Do you keep your painting room at a specific temp, or any other way in your process to speed up drying times between steps?

Looks great but i think it should be mentioned that most helmets are not supposed to be painted. The paint thinner can weaken some kinds of outer shells and sanding it first will certainly also do that. To be hones i'm not sure which types of shells are most fragile when it comes to this but just be careful and ask the manufacturer if it's ok to do to your helmet or you could ha a helmet that not doing what it's supposed to do as well as before. Some manufacturers say you shouldn't even put a sticker on it.
@Rekoyl116Ай бұрын
It’s more of a liability issue than an actual issue. It’ll be okay mate, relax
@The77GameАй бұрын
@Rekoyl116 I have head otherwise and when I don't have an actual test that proves my point wrong I will keep telling people to make sure first. I don't know how that would make it seem like I'm not relaxed.
@Rekoyl116Ай бұрын
@@The77Game the helmet was already painted. He didn’t even sand through the original paint…
@inb4230Ай бұрын
all helmets come painted from factory and when you're custom painting you're only scuffing the original clear and painting on top, also the tail solvent used in automotive paint evaporates almost instantly. Try taking a full gallon of solvent, pour it over a helmet and see for yourself,the only thing that can be damaged is the inner foam (you'll OBVIOUSLY remove it or protect it!). Nascar, f1,motogp, isle of man tt,rally, ALL of them use custom painted helmets,one would think those people know a thing or two about safety, especially when they frequently walk out unscathed from 100 mph+ crashes. That's a myth
@chrissoborderhydrographicsАй бұрын
Bad idea using the interoat for your flake it’s better to mix it into clear then spray 3 or 4 coats of clear over ya flake n clear so much easier to sand man when you use intercoat it’s rougher
