It was Endgame. Dude was crawling when he exited the suit (I believe the Skrulls wouldn’t have kept up the act for THAT long, constantly having to make sure others remember the disability) and he was also bleeding red blood. The easiest way to tell if someone was a Skrull, which was used during the entirety of Secret Invasion, was to see the colour of their blood, that’s how they did it during the whole show. So why was Rhodey in a hospital gown? Well the Avengers compound was blasting…and yes he was in a suit, but the suit was basically non-functional when he crawled out and he was bleeding, he was definitely injured in some kind of capacity. Not to mention the actual battle, eyes weren’t completely on Rhodey, so he probably got more injured and then went to the hospital after the battle. He is a SOLDIER, he knows the procedure to get a check-up after the battle. That’s when the Skrulls most likely took him, after the battle, off-screen, in a hospital, while he is recovering and dealing with the sacrifice of essentially his closest friend. Rhodey was a Skrull for a long time but he definitely wasn’t one since Civil War. Absolutely no way no chance. Would Tony let Rhodey out of his sight after an accident like that? The Skrulls would NOT have had an opportunity to even do so. Plus, the Skrulls didn’t have probable cause to even kidnap Rhodey. In Secret Invasion, we learned that they were getting tired of Fury. The dude gets blipped for 5 years, leaving them alone and helpless. The moment he gets back, he goes to space. That’s why it makes sense to be after the events of Endgame, it makes the most sense with Rhodey’s injury and Fury’s inactivity and the breaking of his promise to the Skrulls.

While a skrull would be able to copy his dna, they wouldn’t be able to copy his personality, or his password, and therefore, couldn’t use his suits. Evidence 3 - Rhodey’s suit is disabled after Thanos’ attack in Endgame, he ejects from it and crawls to save Rocket. Why would a Skrull do this? Why not just get up and run? Counter point 1 - The hospital gown. Rhodey had a fucking building fall on him, of course he went to the hospital afterwards. Counter point 2 - Iron Man 2 - This just doesn’t work. Basically all of Rhodey’s character development throughout the MCU was for nothing. Everything from him kicking ass with stark in Iron Man 2, to his Badassery in Iron Man 3, his appearance in Age of Ultra, and his arc during Infinity War and Endgame. He has a wound on his head and he bleeds red blood if he is a skrull in Endgame he should be bleeding purple blood right? plus he also can’t walk without his suit. Depending on what will be said on when he is taken, will possibly split the fans on the MCU, cause if he was a skrull before endgame, it destroys any character progression of his, if it was after endgame, then people might be fine, cause from civil war to endgame he needed to wear a leg brace on his legs to walk around and when he had the suit on it really allowed him to walk even better. When they were buried in the avengers compound from thanos attack, he had to crawl to the new suit with his arms, his legs still had the braces on, since everyone was very distracted with not getting crushed the skrull if it was him at the time would have used his legs.

As shown in the last episode of Secret Invasion, Rhodey was wearing a hospital gown. It's safe to say that he's probably been a Skrull since Civil War just after he became a paraplegic, meaning that he's been a skrull for about 9 years in the MCU.

Putting a Skroll to work to soften the damage is well within what Nick Fury may do, or even any of his underlings at Shield.

When the Avengers base get destroyed in Endgame after they reverse the snap, Rhodey and Rocket are trapped underneath and Rhodey is bleeding a little and it is red. Skrulls bleed purple so he’s not a Skrull til after Endgame sometime.

Since captain America civil war. He was in a hospital gown. When they took him from the pod. Best time to capture James Rhodes. He was unconscious in the hospital. Before Tony built his exoskeleton. A Skrull can mimic any creature. Including bone structure this is to assume that they can mimic injuries on any total body from head to toe.

Theory: I don’t think he had been a skurl since civil war I think he was a scroll after endgame or during secret invasion I think he got kidnapped by some skrulls and all they had was a hospital gown so they put it on him to disguise the skrulls and then they turned the skrull into rhodey and also they stole his mechanical leg’s that’s why he couldn’t walk

My inclination would be that it's recent, within a year of Secret Invasion. We know that Gravik didn't go rogue until some time after Endgame, as [spoilers]... ...he was part of the team collecting the Harvest after the Battle for Earth, and "Rhodey" seems very much on his side, and not just somebody who has been browbeaten into supporting him. I would say that Falcon & Winter Soldier *could* have been a Skrull, but I think in all his appearances before that he was human.
