@@nick56677 I used to think the same, then I looked at his coaching record. The man coached in eight full seasons, winning record in six, and an 8-8 record in another. His lone losing season was 7-9. In Buffalo it was widely speculated that the owner (Ralph Wilson) told Wade he needed to start Rob Johnson over Doug Flutie. And, well, in Dallas - he had Jerry Jones. Meanwhile, a coach like Ron Rivera is revered and talked about as a good coach.

To be fair, Rex Ryan still took the Jets to consecutive AFC Championship games. The Jets had their two most successful seasons since winning Super Bowl III with him. Also didn’t help that Mike Tannenbaum and John Idzik were bad GMs. I won’t defend his last four seasons as the Jets coach, but he didn’t get to within a game of the Super Bowl with Mark Sanchez by accident.

Who would’ve thought that Danny Amendola would become a go to receiver for Tom Brady and a 2 time super bowl champion. Think about all the underdog guys on that patriots Super Bowl offense. Their first team offense was essentially made up by free agents and 6th round draft picks. Danny amendola, Brady, Hogan, Edelman. Really crazy how a good scheme and a good quarterback can make any receiver a star.
@Chalk89 Жыл бұрын
You're 100% right regarding scheme, and quarterback. One other point is ignoring the stereotype. Jerry Jones and co. always talked 'size and speed,' when the wide receiver group came up, even from the last Hard Knocks. They looked at DA and thought, 'he doesn't check either box!' They clearly learned their lesson and didn't let Cole Beasley slip out of their grasp later on.
