I had NO idea you could set your own materials. I have battled with chuncky glitter for years! Thank you SO much for this video. One tip I learned along the way is to put a piece of strong grip transfer tape on your mat first, sticky side up, then put the leather onto the transfer tape. Saves getting the mat full of glitter! I'm off to make tons of bows for my new granddaughter! YAHOO!!

I didn't even KNOW you could set your own materials! I've struggled with guessing what preloaded options would work with the heavenly glitter from hell. This not only helped me cut glitter vinyl, but also helped me with setting up my personal options for heavy felt-backed holographic and heavy felt-backed faux leather. Thank you so much for taking the time to walk us through this!!

Thank you for your great tutorial. Last year I bought different faux leather & couldn't get it to cut for nothing. I used your recommended setting for the fine glitter canvas & it cut perfectly!

Thank you so much for this! I was up late trying to make a cake topper last minute and only had enough paper for one try. I don't think I could have done it tonight without your help!

for chunky glitter sheets i've found that using the rotary blade with the heavy burlap setting works well and only requires 1-2 passes

So in this video, you said canvas. But I have faux leather that has backing to it that either may or definitely will fray when pulling off the mat, if I put it back side down, and I definitely don’t want to put it glitter side down. I’m searching around looking for other people’s suggestions. I’ve seen it said to use transfer tape (but glitter side down on the that). Have you ever used that or the faux leather like I mentioned. (I’m new to cricut, making monthly payments on my machine, and don’t have the money to buy all kinds of material just for practice purposes).

If I want to layer the thick glitter canvas, what type of glue works best? I prefer not to use hot glue because I don’t want to see the strings of glue or glue build up(if that makes sense)

Hola, mi pregunta es: cuando cortas ese material, puedes seguir cortando vinil con la misma navaja? O le quita el filo?
@mariamakhtar24593 жыл бұрын
So I did try this. I had chunky glitter fabric. This blade is too strong. It ruined my mat and some plastic came flying out of my machine i don’t know what broke! I wonder if you can use the rotary blade instead. I’m not using the deep fine pint blade again.

I’m so confused on the ‘brand new mat’ do I need to buy a new one every time or will cleaning it be fine?

bitch lasagne I would guess only if it has lost it’s good stickyness, but if you’re gonna tape, then I don’t see the point, especially given the cost of the mats.

I keep getting a machine error when I use tape do you have any advice on how to fix it
@Ninjamlm2 жыл бұрын
Didn't work on the crappy glitter fabric my wife bought (in a roll). It either doesn't cut through it or if the pressure gets too high it grabs it and messes it up and pulls it into the machine causing an error.

This cut way to deep into my mat sadly :( xx

So sorry to hear! There are so many types of chunky glitter. That’s why I tried to explain with the ones I bought. It’s normal to have marks on the mat but not going through it. Did it go through it? What Mat did you use? I would like to replace it if you’re in the USA.
@ycquanx4 жыл бұрын
@@daydreamintoreality8970 I used a brand new strong grip. It didn't go all the way through but it did cut deep, the cut lines were white on the mat. Is this normal? Sorry I've only had my Cricut for two days so I'm learning :) xxx
@daydreamintoreality89704 жыл бұрын
@@ycquanx well as I explained on the video this technique does mark your mat. It always marks mine. It happens a lot when cutting thick materials, even with Cricut materials. Glitter canvas is one of the hardest materials I’ve cut ever since I started with Cricut. It’s normal for your mat to be marked, but not the point of cutting through it. You’re very brave to start with this material 💪🏻 Anyway, if your mat is damaged and you’re in the USA I will send you credit from Amazon for you to replace it. Don’t want you to have a bad experience when you’re just getting started! My email is: daydreamintorealityblog@gmail.com Have a lovely night!
