99% of the time if the primary(s) are touching the neutral and its not sparking at all that means they arnt carrying load. Be very careful in snow however, as lines that fall on snow can often appear dead but can be insulated from the ground

You were equipped to cut the branches and limbs, no doubt looked carefully to see if there were wires contacting any of them, and, as you pointed out, were already fully committed. You both made it OK, or you wouldn't be b posting the video.
