As always, a fine review. Also, thanks for the cutting with a recurve tips.

I absolutely luv my Amphibian Folders. Yes, this isn't the first Amphibian from Microtech. But, it is the first RAM-LOK Model. Very impressive cutting. Especially, considering that Microtech mainly makes Self-Defense Blades. The New RAM-LOK Folder I like to carry the most is the least expensive Model, the Polymer MSI. I have installed Skiff's into mine. And, they absolutely "ROCK" with the Skiff's. Thank you for sharing. :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

Such a Badass blade!, It cut better than you thought it would.😁

I dig my Amphibian, although it's not really my style either. You can strop a recurve on your strop -- you just have to tilt the blade a bit and use the corner/edge of the strop.

Ah okay guess I just gotta practice. I’ve never owned anything with a recurve before e

What a clunker! I dig it, though. Sure beats those over-priced micro OTFs they make. Cheers!

Every ram lock I’ve tested was strong and solid. I’ve tested an MSI, Amphibian and Stitch

Hey Dood! I wanted to mention a couple things as well as ask you a question. I've got the same exact model Amphibian (fluted G10/apocolyptic blade) and I've had a hell of a time keeping a good edge on mine. Ive been using it daily as my work knife for the last 3 months. I've tried 22,24,26, and 28 degree angles all at 600 grit and none hold an edge very well. My Stitch at a 24 degree angle holds an edge way better than the Amphibian has so far. Any recommendations for that? And another thing i wanted to mention, for anyone interested in picking one of these up, the pocket clip is indeed HELLA stiff, but mine just finally within the last month has broken in enough to where i can get it in my pocket with just one hand now. And finally my question for you, I cant remember what video of yours it was, but i remember you mentioning it being a possibility to "over-strop" an edge. Can you elaborate on that a little? How do you know when to stop stropping? How can you tell if you've over-stropped? If you've read to this point, thank you!! Love your cut test videos, i always look forward to them.

Hmm.. if you’ve tried all those angles then you’ve sharpened it past any burnt steel, so that’s not it. Could have gotten a wonky one? I dunno man. I think less is more with stropping, I usually do like five strokes per side that’s it

@doodysdaggers The next logical step in my mind is to play around with different finishing grits and see what happens I guess. Anyways, I appreciate the response!

I always liked recurves, where you can “push into” a cut rather than “fall out of” like a lot of drop points.
