I think it's interesting how he assumed anyone LGBTQ+ is an atheist. I guess it reflects his own experience and how he can't imagine being religious because it was so traumatizing for him because of his sexuality. I feel like there's a lot of religious LGBTQ+ people though and i love that that's represented in this video.
@dekutree11053 жыл бұрын
Yeah I'm also exmormon and lgbtq+ and I realize I do the same thing. The mormon church often has such a toxic culture surrounding sexuality and gender that it becomes hard to imagine how anyone could could stay in a religion and not be cis and straigh or how any religion would be different. Not to mention a lot of major religions preach anti-lgbtq+ stuff as well, so it's easy to assume that's what all religions all like (even though they really aren't)
@marina4103 жыл бұрын
@@dekutree1105 I'm sorry to hear you've had experiences like that. I hope you've been able to heal. I'm a catholic LGBTQ+ person myself and I've thankfully never had an issue with it, despite many people seeing it as an anti-LGBTQ+ religion. To be fair though, I'm not that active in the catholic community and my religion isn't really that present or central in my life. I guess it depends a lot on how you were raised and how religion was a part of that, and also a lot on what kind of a church you go to and who teaches you about your religion. I can't remember ever being taught anything homophobic, whether it was by a priest, a catholic religion teacher at school, my parents or any other member of the catholic community irl (obviously online is a very different situation).
@dekutree11053 жыл бұрын
@@marina410 Yeah I think it does depend on who teaches you about your religion. I live in a mostly catholic town, and I've met catholic people who are queer or allies and people who are homophobic, and it seems to change based on the type of people (within the church) that they surround themselves with
@twistedmind33233 жыл бұрын

It’s funny to me to hear the questions people ask to figure out if someone is atheist. I think Timmy has probably seen this as well but a lot of atheist have been in religions. Me for example I was raised Protestant. I went to church camp, went to church, went to Sunday school, and did Bible study. Moved to a different area and didn’t go to church for a few years. Became an atheist in highschool. I don’t remember most of what I learned since I was so bored at church that I didn’t listen. I was also young but I do remember feeling like I didn’t fit in. I go to concerts and clubs and have a great time. When I get back I have alone time to recharge and join back up with my friends the next day. In the case of church camp I was uncomfortable with the content not the crowd. It's perceptions like this that are damaging to how people perceive introverts. People expect it to be like social anxiety when they are nowhere near the same. I've been laughed at when I told someone I was an introvert because I wasn't "acting like an introvert." They had known me for three days and two of those days was me avoiding them. I don't like meeting new people at my house and that is separate from being an introvert. I have a minor in psychology so I have educational knowledge of this topic as well. Stop trying to tell strangers on the internet what they are feeling especially when they are very vocal about it themselves. They'll know their own mind and body better than you ever could.

How would you describe being an omnist?
@Creepymusic7823 жыл бұрын
@@Nexils I believe every religion has truth to it and it is possible they are all real. I love and respect them all even if there are parts I disagree with. It’s impossible to practice all of them but I think about them often.
@Nexils3 жыл бұрын
@@Creepymusic782 Ahh, I've never heard of that before. That's interesting, although I do wonder how you would handle different religions that contradict each other. Like people not being allowed to worship other gods etc. But I suppose you don't really worship but rather belief every religion holds part of the truth?
@Creepymusic7823 жыл бұрын
@@Nexils exactly. It’s also hard to say which version of each religion is the “true” way. Different people real different translations and interpret things so many different ways. There is no reason someone couldn’t believe in all of them if they interpret it their own way. Things like Buddhism and Christianity can easily overlap with no conflict but others are definitely conflict. I embrace the differences of them all even within their conflicts of that makes sense. I’m not a perfect Christian or a perfect Hindu, because I’m both neither and all. Ya feel? Lol I just identify as spiritual mostly because it can lead to several debates.

I see that religions are finally evolving! At least from the point of view of these people. I'm an atheist, I guess that doesn't give me much right to say either. But I really like to see that God is not something to fear but someone who loves and respects everyone, whatever your sexuality. That thinking of man and woman is the only good way to be a good person is very old-fashioned. But well to be honest i thinl that this is what atheism is based on, accepting everyone without looking at religion, sexuality, etc. Just spread love and accept everyone. Love don't hate. I just feel as atheist don't feel represented with the atheist girl, because i feel that we have souls, i just don't belive there is someone above us judging all we do, there are also scientific test that shows that humans and animals have souls.❤

I agree, God wasn't a problem it was omly people only cuz they like to cherry pick what to preach/ hide the truth from the world. As technology evolves people are starting to have more access to knowledge and it can also help them understand their religion better since you can reach out to different people across the world for info. so it's nice to finally see a change and some people are kinda starting to stop weaponizing religion. I'm christian but i don't identify myself as a christian or with the church cuz of the things they've done throughout history. It's okay to believe whatever you want no one will judge you, you just have to accept yourself and you won't care what people say. Like you said spread love and don't hate, kindness is such free but priceless thing to give

Hey! To whoever is reading this, you are so loved and you matter!And right now I just want to tell you about Jesus😊you don’t have to listen to me, you don’t have to agree with me, but I promise you that Jesus loves you so much and He died for you out of that love!❤️ Jesus died for every single person on the cross,He died for me, you, him, her, them and everyone all so we could be made right with God! “For God so loved the world he gave his one and only beggoten Son, that whoever so believed in him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16) now don’t worry if you’re a little bit confused by what that means- when I say that “Jesus died so we could be made right with God”,what I mean is that Jesus payed the debt for our sins in full, He died so that every single one of us could be forgiven by God for our sins. we have all sinned against God(what that means is that we’ve all made mistakes & fallen short of Gods biblical law), BUT God loves YOU so much that He sent a saviour, He sent His one and only Son so that YOU could be forgiven for all your sins, have that burden taken off you and start again through Jesus!Jesus saves us from our sins and the consequences from those sins, but He also saves us with His love, His peace that surpasses all understanding, His Joy and His grace! Jesus loves you so much and God loves YOU so much that if you accept Him(Jesus) as your Lord and saviour, confess your sins to Him and believe God raised him from the dead HE WILL save you and you can spend forever with Him! “If you declare with your mouth,”Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved” (Romans 10:8) now you may be thinking “ I want to believe in Jesus, I think do believe in Him but there’s a part of me that doesn’t” DONT PANIC, JESUS WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU! He knows your heart, He knows what’s going on for you, He knows you want to believe more and more in Him, just talk to Him about it, whatever is on your mind don’t worry Gods got it!there is never any issue that is too big for God, I promise you He understands it all! “ if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9) “Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me” (Psalm 51:10) There is nothing you could ever do for Him to stop loving you, Jesus loves you! And let me tell you, this isn’t one of those kind of relationships where you spend half the time sitting around thinking “Hmmm do they really love me?” Because Jesus already wants a relationship with you! He loves you, He literally died so you could be forgiven! when He died for us on the cross He thought about us individually, He knows you personally, He knows your heart, He knows your situation,He knows all the things you’ve done and regret, He knows how much you wish someone could understand the things you don’t say and how you wish they knew what was really going on for you. Jesus knows it all, He doesn’t see you as your mistakes, nor does He see you as your regrets, He sees you for your heart, for who you are and He sees you as someone he cares and loves for deeply!He loves you! I don’t know if you need to hear this, but just in case you do I also need to assure you that God is NOT waiting for you mess up! He’s not waiting to leave you (in-fact he promises to never leave or forsake you), BUT what He IS WAITING for is for you to accept Him into your life so you never have to feel alone again! He is a genuine, forgiving,all loving, He is a rock for everyone and a saviour for everyone! Jesus loves you more than you could ever know and He’s waiting to lift that weight off your shoulders, He’s waiting to take away all your pain and hurt, He’s waiting to welcome you with open arms, He’s waiting to forgive you, He’s waiting to save you!HE LOVES YOU!thank you for reading this, have a great day and there is no better moment than right now to accept JESUS into your life! Repent and turn away from your sins, GOD LOVES YOU! He is “the way and the truth and the life” No one comes to the Father except through Him, (John 14:6) He wants you to be with Him one day in heaven!put your trust in Him! God wants to save you! God bless 💕💕
