What components do Toyota produce? Is it mostly just a sponsorship deal/badging exercise?

None. BAE (Brad Allen Engines) and TFX (Too Fuel Extreme) are a couple examples of top fuel engine builders. Some teams, including Kalettta, do some of their own r&d. Toyota is the sponsor.

@@scotthash7037 it's Brad Anderson, who's Brad Allen ??? And it's Kalitta. BAE= Brad Anderson Engineering. And pretty much nowadays everyone uses Alan Johnson equipment in Top Fuel Nitromethane, there's still lots of BAE engines in Alcohol classes, But Not much Nitro burners running BAE.

To be fair, none of the car manufacturers sponsoring this class of racing have any components on the race car that are related to a street car. Maybe when you go way down to the street classes that actually have steel bodies and oem based engines.

Obviously you are unaware that in NHRA Pro Stock that car the has to run an engine made by the same manufacturer as the car. In other words, a Chevy in a Chevy, a Ford in a Ford. Thats why you wont see any Toyotas in Pro Stock!@@geoffmooregm

@@johncarl5505 what do you mean restrict them many years ago Chevrolet tried to make a hemi it was called an Arius hemi Ford tried the same thing what you meant to say this is the only engine that will produce that kind of horsepower and it’s design came from the 426 hemi

Very nice display so gear heads can see it. The centrifugal clutch is a nice thing when everything comes together and makes the dragster hook up and go down the track.

To be as ignorant as a "you spelled it wrong post" I retaliate with MIT engineering quotes. The Oxford English Dictionary defines “motor” as a machine that supplies motive power for a vehicle or other device with moving parts. Similarly, it tells us that an engine is a machine with moving parts that converts power into motion. “We use the words interchangeably now,”

Motor definition: a machine, especially one powered by electricity or internal combustion, that supplies motive power for a vehicle or for some other device with moving parts. Also, motorbike, motorhome, motorcycle, motorway, motorcade, motor speedway, a billion others I can’t think of right now. A motor is just the unit that motivates or powers a machine. People have been correctly calling motors, motors since the beginning. A million gatekeepers have been assembling their own fences and claiming that “motors are electric!” for a long time, and will continue too. It doesn’t make you or them correct.
