Equal submission, not as in “do what I say, how I say it, and immediate”. Not in a commanding and abiding sense. Equal submission as in laying down and lifting up for and with each other, loving each other entirely through and with the love of God. The bible says for husbands to love their wives as Christ loves the church. Christ laid down His life and took all sufferings, effortlessly submitted to the will of the Father out of LOVE for His child and Him, building His church on Simon-Peter to bring salvation to all. Wives submit to their husbands- as their husbands lead. What is a Leader? Not in an authoritarian sense. We are called to be lead by God and not ourselves or flesh. It goes a lot deeper than that, but just thought I would share some insight☺️.

I think personally think it’s more experience and the things you’ve been through can help you mature even if your young. I’m 20 and I could easily define what I want, what I expect, what my goals are, etc. I’m aware I don’t have it all figured out and overtime my values can develop and change but I’d definitely say, regardless of who it is or how old (because people can be older and be the exact SAME way) they just have to be someone that’s mature, intellectual and goal oriented. And everyone doesn’t have the same ambitions either which is totally fine but the red flag would be not knowing what you want or what you’re looking for. When you don’t know those things, you’ll be in a lot of positions you don’t want to be in BECAUSE of that. Which is fine! Everyone moves at a different pace but these are key things in building a strong relationship.
