Well they would work out if their relationship actually had a better writing and development I mean they thought it will be funnier if they still fight which was not even funny anymore as they supposedly became friends after their first kiss they got along better so it doesn't make sense. The writers were the ones responsible for a bad writing if they wanted they could make them a nice couple with their problems of course, a romantic relationship is not perfect but with mutual love and respect for one another.
