Cute Leopard Gecko Unboxing from BHB Reptiles

Just got my adorable new baby! A Hypo Albino Tremper W/Y Pos Het Eclipse from BHB Reptiles.
She’s the cutest thing I’ve ever seen and is so sweet! In this video I show shipping conditions, my first impression and a quick overview of feeding and setup. I’m still learning as I go on so will do some update videos as time goes on.

For the uvb, I use one myself but I would recommend a long tube light instead of a coil. Coil uvb can be damaging.

Leopard geckos can survive 7 days without food witch is why they have fat tails cuz they store fat in it also the use that fat to make water and food and after that all they need for the 2 day max shipping is the right temp and air witch there was air holes in the container also I should be getting one soon I’m exited af hope this helped uwu think I’ve been doing to much research

Patterning is quite pretty for a tremper w/y. Although BHB is not considered a "High end" leopard gecko producer they still are able to breed some amazing looking animals! Are you planning on breeding her/him or is this a pet only situation?

I never got to know when my Leo was born. He was so young to where you couldn’t tell the gender so I assume not that old. I still wish I could have known though. Now we know that he is a boy. His name is Pascal!

If your looking for a uvb fixture getting a linear bulb is a good option ! Shade dweller 7% by Arcadia is amazing , tricky to find in some countries but worth it!!!!!

She's lovely and so nice that she is so chill out of the box. I am patiently taming a juvenile who is not as chill and still adjusting but the younger they are the more sktitish they are so I'm sure it will be fine. I think you were smart to get one that's a little older. Did you name her Peach?

They're relatively easy to take care of and can be tamed to be super nice, do your research though! Petco/smart source their reptiles (and other purchasable live animals) from terribly abusive pet mills. I strongly recommend buying from a small breeder or local exotics shop ^^

They are only in there for less than 24 hours. No matter where you get it even at expos, it will come in a container like that. As long as you get it from a reputable breeder, it will be packaged correctly.

I might be wrong but i have 2 leopard geckos who have been alive for 7 or 8 years and I was always told to only use pure calcium without d3 because too much can hurt them and especially when you are using a uvb light. I am not trying to be rude and i am no expert.

Seriously? If you live in Germany then you have some of the best breeders in the world on your doorstep plus biggest reptile expo in Europe every 3 months !!! Why would you even consider getting gecko from terrible company like BHB where nobody can identify genetics, mislabel animals and spread misinformation on their care when you can get a gecko within 100km from where you live from some of most respected breeders in the world with some of most stunning animals?

@@monke2229 there are quite a few not exactly sure if close to Berlin or not but quite sure they can ship whatever you need within a day in Germany. Micha Wolf has super high end geckos, Philipp Hasenohrl, Malte Zimmerman, Gabor Hocher, Nicole Rusch, Tim Kneppe, Justine Hermann, Daniela Stengel. That's just of the top of my head tbh, there are many more great breeders in Germany. I would definitely recommend going to Hamm you can meet many great passionate breeders there and even from Berlin shouldn't be more than 4-5h on the train. I regularly fly from Ireland to Netherlands and then 2-3h on the train to Hamm so from Berlin that shouldn't be such a big trip especially since trains in Germany are super efficient.

I wouldn’t use rep cal multi vitamins. Leopard gecko are obligate insectivores and need vitamin A acetate, they can’t process beta carotenes into vitamin A like herbivores or omnivores can. I would try zoomed reptivite (without d3) or repashy calcium plus.

Now I don't know much about leopard geckos as in like what types there are but I was wondering like is leopard gecko just the name and then there are different types? And what would be some examples of different types of leopard geckos

Goodie Goat The species itself are leopard geckos. However, there are many different morphs. (Think of it like breeds of cats- they’re still cats, they just look different.) Some different leopard gecko morphs are Mack Snows, Tangerines, Jungle, Bold Stripe, and many more. Some of them are a combination of morphs, like the one I’m getting next week!

Be careful with the discoloration and swelling on the eyelids. Its common for these geckos to get eye infections.

Forget super giants, according to new book by Ron Tremper its recessive gen now so no superform, sooner or later giants will be scrapped all together, plus you don't really want to buy from BHB cause they have no clue about genetics

the correct temperature for a leopard gecko is 30 to 31 degrees on the hot side, and 20 to 25 on the normal, not 86 degrees, it is not an iguana or monitor liner , reduce the temperature is dangerous for that little animal. You can look for more information in other channels and you will see that they will tell you the same, or similar I say you because I see that you like it, but be careful.

That 86 degrees was most likely in Fahrenheit, NOT Celsius. Still, that's too cool. Their hot side should be closer to 90 (Fahrenheit).

It was wrong to put her in her tank! A Leopardgecko needs to stay in Quarantine for at least 3 months and you have to pick up the poop and bring it to a vet to see if she have parasites and cryptosporidia...In case she has deseases she will spread all the worm eggs in the cage, so quarantine is sooo soooo important!

Arixbo I disagree. I would only quarantine if I planned on housing her with another Leo. Also, if I suspected a parasite issue, I’d test the fecal matter. She’s been thriving for 9 months with me. Perhaps there’s more than one way to offer proper husbandry. Thanks for your opinion though

Yes. It’s overnighted so they aren’t shipped for more than 24 hours. The styrofoam keeps it insulated so it doesn’t get too hot or too cold. That’s also why a heat pack or cold pack is used in it as well and you are supposed to only ship between 40 - 90 degrees Fahrenheit. The newspaper and packing paper is used to support it in case it gets bounced around.

Actually d3 is incredibly needed whether using uvb or not. You’re more likely to have issues by using too little d3 than too much. The calcium used in the tank though should be calcium without d3.
