The way I described Lutonada to friends is that she's a more specific version of Estelle where she can more easily handle lower pressure lanes that tend to have higher enemy quality. But that's a problem when you cost 32 DP. Even having considerably more bulk and the ability to shift into doing Arts damage maybe not be worth the increase in DP sadly. I do wish her S2 didn't feel so shackled though. Maybe if it had a pull Strength of 1 or triggered every second instead of every two to give the skill more reasonable damage output. (This is also how I learned Mint doesn't actually pull enemies, she pushes them in the opposite way they're facing, which feels kind of cursed.)

i sorta have a hate boner for atk up + 80% skills there are entirely too many ops that have them even among 6 stars they stopped giving them to 6 stars but they still do it for 4* and 5* and it's just lazy either their s2 is good and then u never use s1 or their s2 is bad and then u only use s1 don't mind it as much on medics and defenders tho

@@BillyONealI'm an old player so she is maxed poted for me because I spammed the Def tag enough times. More like I only spammed def and guard for her and Indra. Imagine getting an actual tag combination that would guarantee Vulcan multiple times and every time it occured. It decides to drop one of the tags. Think the combination was something like Defender + Dps.

They could have done so much more, this feels contemptuous because she's lower rarity. I would have been happy if she got something basic like at less than 50% hp and 25% she gains more defense and resistance to gain survivability until her skills activate or maybe some health regeneration that is boosted on enemies blocked, something that is in some way flawed but contributes to her role as a solo laneholder. Here she needs help to kill enemies because she doesn't have a significant source of damage to kill fast enough but if her support is too good it comes to her detriment. I'll build her because why not, she's a 4 but she really needs help from a Bard and some other damage support. But at that point why not spend her deployment cost into a Centurion and Medic combo.

yeah wacky op since i was trying to 3 op h7-1 with her and a lot of the footage was from that i wanna point estelle surro pinecone 3 op it before the existance of modules The only reason lutonada can't do it is cause of DP tho I can't deploy 2 DPS then lutonada

I feel sad for Vulcan because she was the first Juggernaut but everyone just calls it the Mudrock branch. On the real I do feel that the reason 4 and 5 star kits have been all over the place at least for the past year is likely due to some of the staff being moved over to work on Endfield. So the developers who are left to work on AK put most of their effort into 6 stars because that the easiest thing to do. Of course not every 4 and 5 star we’ve gotten has turned out bad, but compared to year 1 ops as an example they have gotten less experimental with them, in turn making them less interesting and making players care about them less. Not to mention a lot of them have little to no story presence. Lutonada turned out like this, Aroma and Odda are actually fine, but then Ascalon is just another standard 6 star who gets a bunch of stuff added to her kit. One of the praises AK got back in the early days was that it wasn’t like other gachas where only the highest rarity units mattered in the long run. The game being diverse enough in its gameplay where every op could shine somewhere, but nowadays that’s becoming less and less the case and it’s effecting the player base.

I dont think Ratonada is all that bad, even if shes certainly no Penance but the unfortunate answer is really just greed. Luto will be able to show up in future pulls, and you can get several copies of her fishing for the higher rare ops in her release banner -- If shes too easy to get, HG cant tempt players into buying prime with $ to keep trying for her. Moreso, they *CAN* tempt you to keep rolling for that one 6 star you just cant get ... hey, maybe the pity system will help you. Or you'll get enough certs trying to buy them outright? tl;dr, why bother with making fun and effective 4 stars if they wont make you money, even whales will get them, and copies, without having to buy a thing. And then we have Surt and Mlynar because

I've been playing Arknights on and off. I never felt this as strongly about 4 and 5 stars being intentionally weaker as during the Monster Hunter event and looking at the modules for Noir S (and the other two Mashura) vs Hellagur.

conceptually "4 star juggernaut" sounded like they would have zero or minimal healing, but "Penance but it's Estelle but there's an extra step" also makes sense.. But looking at her on video I kinda wish she got a healing bonus for either elites or heavyweights? And y'know, give her a dang pull level, and a rational S1.. Like if she's gonna be part Penance then a defense-charge S1 "hit all blocked" to add some Mudmud while you're at it, would be niiice.. But meh, the budget belongs to the presentation, and the 6 stars..

it's more like 50/50 Totter - super strong Quartz - Very niche but usable Humus - Bad skills but reapers are super imba so he still good Verdant - Trash Caper - Pretty good sniper Lutonada - Probably Trash maybe a bit better

DW they fixed that in a few patches we will get degen who fixes the issue of 6 stars not instakilling every enemy in a massive range while becoming invincible on a skill with a short sp cycle

I legit wont be suprised if they make a true damage version of Surtr at this point. Im betting that 5th anni will still somehow suprise us with HGs creative kit design

I will build her solely for her S1, because she is the first and only defender so far with an attack recharge skill (you can make every defensive recharge skill attack recharge with Blemishine, but that means you have to use Blemishine).

@@DrSilvergun Nah, I just like to play atk/def auto skills, and it always annoyed me that to make that work with defenders I needed Blemishine, not just in the team but on the field, and Blemishine does for whatever reason not have an auto atk/def skill. S1 is her only auto skill and for some reason it is her only skill that is auto charge (which makes no sense when her whole kit revolves around her making def skills into both atk and def skills), while her other skills are def skills with manual activation (that are also quite weird to work with S2 basically stops your team from attacking because of sleep and S3 doesn't heal herself). So in the end I often end up with Blemishine taking the defender spot of the defender I wanted to use with a def skill because I needed Blemishine anyway to make that work in the process, Blemishine replacing the defender completely.

4 mins ago? Let's gooooo Anyways Lutonada is a funny operator definitely a good operator for episode/chapter 13 because the enemies have low RES and low weight definitely worth trying in my book. I'll hope for the juggernaut module tho and if AK gonna buff her s2 with the module I'll be really grateful and start trolling using her

HG and their fear of making units *too good* always resulting in them making mid or bad units. This wouldn't be so bad, if HG were willing to admit that a unit is underperforming and buff them in a way that isn't a crap module.

If they wanted to make the skill more interesting but avoid it being too powerful then make the pull much stronger but have it stop pulling when she is at max block and increase the damage based on how many enemies she is blocking. If that is too much, then make the arts damage only apply to blocked enemies as well so she is further incentivized to be killing blocked enemies rather than blocking a few strong enemies and killing all the weak ones that pass by. Alternative idea, keep the pull strength as weak as it currently is, but have it increase by a level for each blocked enemy so at least we can have some Nian+Heidi+Pallas memes that let a 4-star have the highest ceiling in a mechanic in a memey/non-OP way(looking at you Myrtle) that could actually lead to some rewarding gameplay as well in regular use. In this version I would say instead of giving her AoE arts damage, she instead gets a larger attack buff and convert attacks to arts damage. This way she has higher single target dps to preserve her kill rate against tough enemies and her block count(and thus pull strength) against weaker ones. Also shouldn't powercreep Dur-Nar too badly since it is single target arts damage instead of all blocked enemies.

Side note: If they want to keep her in her current play style of jack-of-all-trades, master of none, then at least make her lean more into the "team player who needs dps to support her" niche by raising the taunt level of enemies she blocks. Idk how actually useful it would be, but it is at least something.

Sure, but counter argument, flavor or not be her pull, after her release she became one of the operators I'm most excited for along with Harold, Ray, Frost - I swear I'm getting her this time - Doc, Santalla, who I'm not being delusional in expecting to get before she hits cert shop, cooler Fang and Lucilla, and you might ask where I'm going with this, well... I don't know, but hey, Frost technically got a buff, once, so I can keep praying Lutonada and that one other mate are done justice by their pulls. :D

I kinda wanna test her in zalak-knights. Especialy since she actualy has some self sustain and zalaks lack good sustain, cuz the only options to heal are 1* bard and wanderer medic that are not realy hps heavy. also stil no normal defender, ashlock is all offensive, cement lacks block count, and now lutonada that lucks cooperation with the only medic my niche has. Not that i complaining cuz lack of conviniance is the most interesting thing about the niche

Only took them close to 3 years to release a side story 4* (Luo Xiaohei doesn't count). Good thing she's... just fine. Honestly I don't care much about her S2 shift. It's like HG decided to sprinkle a bit of spice onto a skill that is pretty much Penance S2 giga lite version to make that skill slightly more interesting. And the meal that is Lutonada S2 still tastes mostly the same anyway.
