If you can't have your own then you could volunteer with a shelter to help socialise cats and even dogs. I don't know about cats but some will even let you take the dogs out. You can take them around to the dig park of stores & they wear a vest or bandana saying adopt me.

The first time I took Zeus & Phoebe to get Halloween costumes, they were on leash. I never took Zeus off leash which was tied to the cart. Phoebe loved trying on dresses so I disconnected her leash from the harness and she did just fine. Helios will be six months tomorrow the 11th.
