I’ve never encountered bed bugs in Paris…
@ShoraBill Жыл бұрын
@@TravelwithLizzie Hi ,,, u're lucky..!actually,there are MORE than bed bugs, recently these things are talked about because they are really bothering people,,, I lived and sill work sometimes on apartment renovations , most of the haussmannian buildings lack ventilation,the air doesn't circulate, also they don't throw away the cardboards ,sometimes they stay in the courtyard for weeks,till eggs grow within,we were working on an apartment (€4 millions) rue marbeuf, very fancy and when u get in you're struck by a strange smell all along the stairs,,,, anyway enjoy ur place and be safe,,,, the earliest I will return to Paris will be in the spring, hopefully by then, les punaises disparaîtront.

That’s a very classist thing to say. Bedbugs eat people in all income brackets, just ask Manhattanites
@ShoraBill Жыл бұрын
@@JessicaA actually u probably haven't read my second comments,,, what I'm saying in general in French housing including fancy apartments and even very expensive townhomes around, avenue Foch, Friedland, park Monceau ,,,, THERE'S A LACK of VENTILATION, and that's one of the factors. I like it but the mirror is hideous! I couldn't stay there for that reason. It just looks like it's been smashed. Otherwise cute and practical as a space. They should elevate the bed for storage.
@TravelwithLizzie7 ай бұрын
I know! The mirror was so awkward and practical. There was storage under the bed that I didn’t feel I needed to use, any higher and you’d have issues with opening the window.

Chambre de bonnes aren’t for everyone ☺️
@writerforlifeify5 ай бұрын
@@TravelwithLizzie Whether for everyone or no one, a chambre de bonne below a certain square footage is legally unrentable. There are over 100,000 of these tiny bedsits all over Paris, most without bathrooms or running water & many, maybe the majority, are sitting empty under Parisian rooftops as they are too small to rent out. Hence, the OP's question: Is it even legal to rent this space to you? If below 85 sq feet or so, then no (unless the minimum size was updated).

Everything is very close in a chambre de bonne - and I learned to be very tidy and clean. I also rarely cook in Paris and eat most of my meals out. But let’s just say I was happy the toilet was separate down the hall (albeit shared) 😂
