Raise the bed on 6 chunky 4 by 4 inch wooden blocks screwed with L brackets and put plastic storage containers under for bedding, balcony cushions shoes even tinned goods and toilet paper etc. Deffo make little shelfs for either side of the bed. Put a shallow mirrored medicine cabinet above the loo cistern. Go charity / thrift store shopping for nice cheap table lamps and buy cable tidy coils to hide the wires. Love the apartment.

Awesome video! I love how everything came together! Just to add a bit of context, I also live in a T2 apartment 45m2 but it’s in Orléans (an hr from Paris) and I only pay 660€ per month and that includes everything. Including electricity and wifi. And I have two western style bathrooms💜💜

It looks perfectly homey and cozy! What about stick-on wallpaper for the pop of color you’re looking for in the bedroom?

Lovely and comfortable apartment. I live in Australia. I don't understand why there isn't sufficient overhead hardwired lighting in every room and power outlets for floor lamps / table lamps. This is a major limitation in basic floorplan layout.

Same in Spain. I think it has to do with the fact many buildings were built before Electricity was common in houses and it has not been able to be retro fitted.

From the USA. Replace Jeans clothing storge unit with tall one like the one you have in the Living room. Also purchase a bee frame with under bed storage draws. It will give you more store space.

Great video! 2 suggestions for French apt storage which I’ve seen in my SIL’s condo in Bandol & a friend’s 3 BR apt in Paris. Because ceilings are usually very high in toilettes, you can add a lot of cupboards & shelving high up for medicine & towels. Our friend in Paris has the usual extremely narrow toilettes room, but added an extremely narrow & tall cupboard for toilet paper. It’s just about the same width of a roll of RP, which was odd, but interesting.

Its a T1 cuz u only have 1 bedroom. T2 is when u have two bedrooms, living room doesn't count as a room If u rearrange ur bedroom, for example put the bed where is the shelf unit and desk/shelf aka closet where is the bed now. And u can put a dresser where is the desk.

Thank you for sharing Your charming Space de Couple. Lovely cultural additions/ detail anyone planning to relocate to Paris will use. INT BDRM: consider replacing bed on the living room wall; counter storage to bathroom wall w/1 cupboard for a linens closet if possible

That is neat. I like the stove with the dishwasher underneath. My house doesn’t have enough storage either. I have no linen closet, or a coat closet. We’re hoping to put a clothes rack for our winter coats. In the office once I clean it out,

Lovely place! Love the living room. The lack of overhead lighting and plugs is just... Downright strange! 😅 your bathroom is actually a bit bigger and has more storage than mine, haha. Mine is all tiled so I can't even hang anything (and it didn't have any hooks! Not even for hand towels, so we just use some stick-on hooks from ikea). I would advise against hanging up shelves over the bed though,it's usually not the safest option.

Does your deposit for the apartment get reduced for the holes you drilled into the wall? Do you have a video on what to expect when you are done renting a place?

I grew up in a house with a huge 1/2 or 3/4 bathroom (toilet/2 sinks). It''s what the guests used. I loved it. And it's something I rarely see. Our family bedrooms were on the second level where we used the two full baths. Anyhoo, loved this vid!

I agree. You have a great kitchen. My friend has a very nice apartment in the 16th, but the kitchen is smaller than yours. I have a baker’s rack in my kitchen, where I store some pots, pans, and appliances.

Very cute and nicely arranged apartment! Do you happen to know if your Nespresso coffee maker has dual voltage capacity, i. e., can be used in North America with a plug adapter? I've been trying to find out on line without success. (Thanks in advance for any help!)

I live in France and I am building engineer when I did work state side I know the kind of building you live in! It is some old, but a newly remodeled apartment I don't how new my guess is the building is older than you are alive or very close to that, and the remoded is less than 5 years old! Am I close? If your walls are made of sheet rock get an electronic stud finder no not to find you a new man this is to find studs that hidding in your walls the wood hold up the sheet rock; in the states they are every 16 inch however here in France that is almost impossible to do because of the out date building codes and things change when doing a new remodle in old biuldings! Find the stud and they many other ways to hang things by using the studs as anchor points across two or more studs if a shelf is to be use or a French cleat hook to hang a pot off the wall if do yhr right wal you hide the French cleat hook, so that no one see it! The French cleat is an Ameerican trem I have no idea what it is call here in France I have done more building work in the States sorry! The work changes if one of the wall is concrete or brick some wall maybe done this way! Knock on the wall with your fist listen to the sound it make you should hear a difference plus concrete, and brick will feel some what colder to the touch than sheet rock and most of the walls of concrete, and brick will be on the outer edge of your apartment which maybe within the main wall of the whole building itself! To today building codes call for some level of insulation on all outer walls of what is legally your apartment when are where possible so that maens most of the time lots sheet rock one or two walls maybe not this what happens when living in old buildings! I live a castle of nearly 250 years old with 15 foot high ceiling stay warm take some work in the winter months but it is a castle with a cool history found no where in the states, so there that! I love old buildings! The same is some what true for put lights in walls and ceiling however sometimes you must run the wire on the outside of the wall (the side you see is the outside) finding a handman/handlady can do the work for you yes it is a question of cost! The wire is cover up by a plastic box so that you don't see the wire and the box can be in most colors and or painted if you need it the box is small hard to see but many old buildings in Europe have this because some walls are three to six feet thick the older the thicker! Is your husband Jean is he French it is a French name I ask because I guess your from Canada! 1500 Euros a month that is a lot of money for rent if he is French! My sister who also half American and half French like me lives in dowtown Paris (not the heart of Paris the very center of Paris) near everthing buses and a big train station her rent for a T3 is 600 Euros and it is not much older than your building with parking with two balconies one looking north one looking south and a nice storeage room her place is not as new but is not trash either! I am in southern sunny France near Spain with the wine (this means hot to dry weather with a lot of wind in this part of France), and cheese near by the bread is found everywhere two to three months of cold this not true in Paris last week my sister got snow me is was warm and sunny! I love it here I am glad to miss what ever may happen next year in the states I can feel the heat from here! I am on no one side just that it is hot on both sides with angry on one side, and fear on the other makes for hot water for all! I have not seen the states in well over 25 years now!
