Cutting a Finger Joint

Another joint for gluing boards together, this week we are looking at the finger joint. i love this joint because its a good looking joint if you are gluing different types of wood together which can be left in view.
the cutter i use is a universal cutter which has many different purposes.

It's really a loose fit. That should hold together on its own. My guess is there must have been some movement during machining.

Congratulations!!! You're the FIRST and only person I've seen in more than 13-videos I've watched on "how to cut finger-joint's" who, after cutting two pieces identically, simply flipped the two pieces to join them. All others tried adding spacers for the 2nd. piece instead of just flipping them over.

Sir I am worried you don't use feather boards or push stick or a scrap of material to reduce tear out. Please reconsider having them one second on that machine done wrong will mess you up.

yes you can use any wood for finger jointing.

How to do this joint without table saw (i.e. just with hand tools)

You could cut them by hand but I used a router table to cut these.
