I always make my husband cut my big boxes of MP soap. He cuts them in cubes as well. The only difference is we use the box as protection for the table when we cut. Then all the small soap cubes (already to melt) go into zip bags. This is his way of helping me. I appreciate it too.

I can’t express how much I appreciate this video! Cutting up the big blocks is my least favorite part of soap making but the way you do it is loads easier! Thank you ❤️

I was chopping up a big block of m&p on our granite counter when my hubby came in and said to not do that. According to him, it dulls knives faster, chopping against the stone. I know that I gave him a funny look, but I agreed to use my large cutting mat, because he is the one sharpening my knives for me. That is one of his hobbies, knives. Well needless to say, I hadn't realized. Anyway, I love watching and the 2 times we have been to the UK, it was in May and June and it was wonderful and a great memory! Blessing!!!

Love it! And the knives lol. I use No Sweat MP here in NSW Australia because we have an extremely humid ( disgusting) 6 months of the year climate. Sometimes I have glycerine dew on my decorated soap tops even in winter! Thanks Karen, I’m always entertained and love your company! 🥰🌺🌈🥂

Put a dehumidifier in the room with the soaps :) the glycerin leeching out makes the finished bar harder but makes less lather

Beautiful knives for cutting. I just finished making a loaf of cold process soap and for the very first time used melt and pour embeds I used a baby powder fragrance oil and also cubes of melt and pour. Curious to see how it cut up but I have to wait LOL until it's cured enough to cut. I love your videos

Karen, I am SO grateful for you posting this. I have to confess I have not looked at the instruction diagram properly on the side of the box so have been trying to cut chunks off the soap while it's still in the box and have had a few near misses with the knife. But NOW you have shown me how you get the soap out of the box the diagram makes sense. How stupid am I? I'm so embarrassed. Still, I hope it gives anybody who reads this a laugh for the day because Lord knows we all need one in these trying times and needless to say I won't be doing MY way any more I shall be doing it properly......

Is your husband afraid of you when you have that knife? 😉 you can go the jungle in with that knife. In Holland we used that knife to cut cheese in pieces 🧀🧀

In a FB MP group the other day someone asked if you preferred the first cut into a big block of soap, or the last. Out of all the responses, I think I was the only one that said " B... the last cut " ... then I explained that I cut the entire box up at one time, to have it totally ready to go so all I have to do is weigh and melt LOL (but I cut it on up into very small cubes ) So yep, to me, the last cut is the best LOL

I wish I could find a place here in the USA that ships bulk Stephenson MP in the box you received! The suppliers here ship bulk in plastic bags =( So you have to try and peel away the bag to cut up the soap but they pour the soap into the bag so some parts of the bag are attached to the inside of the soap and etc. etc. They need to se this video ;)

I used melt and pour for the first time last week. It might be my inexperience, but it set almost as soon as I put into the moulds, plus it hardened with bubbles in.. what did I do wrong? Xxxxx

I'm quite new to soap making too. What I found as I went along was to heat the soap a bit more than I was doing before pouring. I was surprised how much hotter I could get it without it burning, it was trial and error but when I got it sussed, I had enough time to pour some white onto the clear blue and swirl it together with a cocktail stick, it looked really good! As for the bubbles, melt and pour needs spraying with rubbing alcohol (I spray it in the bowl onto the soap after I melt it, and again once I've poured it)...this makes the bubbles go, as long as it hasn't started setting up already. I learned from royalty soaps about rubbing alcohol. It's essential imo for melt and pour. I hope u had fun making ur soap, how was it? What fragrance? What molds? I luvv soap chat! Lol x

@@imurno1fan831 you definitely need Isapropyl alcohol if you are using any type of melt and pour and heating in 30 second bursts so it doesn't over heat and burn.
