I extended an arbor press ram an inch or so like this on my G & E shaper to get a bit more stroke. It was actually a harbor freight gear/rack arbor press. I was making a slotting bar to cut some Cylinder liners out. I pressed is a square hole bushing For a slitting cutter. Worked fine. Good Video. K

Enjoyed. My 16" G&E is manual down feed also so I know his arm was tired. :) Are those way wipers factory or did you make them?

The wipers I made myself from one layer of felt and one layer of leather. And yes it is a good amount of exercise for the arms!

why has the vertical slide been set over, does the mean the tool will cut more on one side than the other. Is it like setting over the topslide on a lathe to cut threads. Ron
