Oblong punches are nice but they can be pricey! Here's a way to get around that if you need a size you don't have.

This is a great video for those who are getting started in the leather hobby! Tools are a expense in the beginning!! Short cuts help keep persons interested in the hobby. From there they can work into the high side and obtaining more tools 😅keep these videos coming! Edging, skiving , bunenishing , dyeing, stitching, all of he above with out the high dollar tools. My teacher is a Amish saddle maker!

Could you make one showing how to cut out an id window? I'm guessing same process just from 4 corners. I'd be really interested to see your method though, maybe seeing how to improve my cuts.

I use a chisel for cutting out the center. I got some cheap harbor freight chisels, sharpened the shit out of them, polish the edge on the strop. Cuts like butter, even the thick stuff.

Did you get my tip on using wool dauber shafts handles with ends cut off to use as temporary spring bars when making watch straps - you mentioned you only had two brass rods…….well now you can have many and twice as many if you half them!
