What’s the story with this Jeep? Was it purchased already modded by the previous owner, not to your tastes? The plan seems to be to upgrade half of the “upgrades.”

Be careful with those Cottonwood trees, the “fluff” that comes off is very flammable. A flame will spread across a yard, covered with “fluff” faster than you can move and if it is piled up against a wood fence it will ignite the fence.

When I went to Dana 60's and the big 1- ton brakes on my 2016 JK I had extremely poor mushy brakes. I had the Mopar J8 (P5160050) heavy duty brake master cylinder and booster kit installed and it was day and night difference. Now I have super good brakes.

For anybody wanting a frame chop rear bumper, and a hitch, Poison Spyder makes a their BFH weld-in rear cross member with and without a hitch, and bumpers to match. I am running one, and have pulled WAY more weight with it (over 10k lbs for short distances) than I probably should have with no issues. My Jeep get used as a tractor once in a while :) Also, good to hear you mention the bedding procedure for the new brakes. A lot of people skip this step.

As far as the brakes goes, Should have just upgrade the master cylinder to the J8 Master. I have a 2013 JK and did the Mopar JL Big Brake upgrade and supposedly I didn't need a bigger master but my brakes were mushy. So I upgraded the Master to the J8 and and now my brakes are rock solid!

they sell a bigger bore master cylinder from crown that helps fix this issue on larger brake kits for the jk's... mopar has a kit that comes with an even bigger master cylinder and brake booster as well... even tho its on back order for the time being. but hopefully he's happy with the results of downsizing in brakes.

I find bumpers such a useful tool that I had to look up why (other than looks) would someone chop one off. From Motobilt’s website - I now understand why The Motobilt Jeep JK Rear Frame Chop Bumper allows for 5 inches of additional ground clearance over the factory receiver hitch. The additional ground clearance you gain is the same as going from a 35 inch tire to a 40 inch.
