Learn Blender fast👉 b3d.cgcookie.com/learn-blender
A common question from the Blender Cookie Blog: "How Do I..." post revolves around jumping from one camera to another in Blender. This ability is valuable to simulate real-world filming techniques. For example, an animator can animate an entire conversation between two characters straight-through, then cut between multiple cameras like they do on a film set. Also in the case of rendering stills, multiple cameras can be set up and animated to switch on each frame, resulting in multiple stills from different angles while simply clicking "render" once.
What you will learn
The significance of Blender's active camera.
How to quickly set the active camera when multiple cameras exist in a scene.
And finally, how to "keyframe" the active camera by binding it to timeline markers.

In Blender 2.8, you don't even need to add markers anymore. Simply select your camera, make it active (Ctrl+NumPad0), and (here's the tricky part) mouse over timeline down low where the markers appear. Ctrl+B. Your camera is now bound to that frame onward. You can bind more cameras and move them around on the time line.

You don't even need to make them active (but it's usefull hotkey, thanks), just select them and Ctrl+B over timeline

So could I bind all cameras to a single frame and render out? I'm thinking about audio sync later and not sure if it makes any difference

neither simple, could have just told you what to do, not straight, tutorial started 3:30, short? tutorial lasted 4:45 minutes to tell me "hover over timeline, press m to set marker, select camera, press ctrl numpad delete to make it active, hover over timeline, press ctrl b to bind camera" but i cannot blame him at all, its the time he was beginning with youtube, so its all fine. Maybe im just used to the modern CGC that is way better than that usefull tutorial yes, but just not Sub-Surface Scattering

Can you tell me how to make the camera switch look smoother? There is an animation of camera 1 transitioning to camera 2,It would be cool if one could seamlessly blend between cameras, not just instantly switch between them.

so I am trying to make my scene change cameras and I did this, it says the active camera changes in the scene tab but the cameras don't change in the 3d view port, I'm wondering if that will affect my render or not, should I be worried or not?

Once there are bound cameras in the timeline, is it then possible to render a single camera pass of the whole animation, which would require temporarily disabling the bound camera?

Great video! However, I'm using blender 2.9 - - and it seems like my camera markers only work in the default workspace tab (not modeling, layout, etc.). Either I never noticed this or I've made a user mistake, not sure which at this point. Was just wondering how to fix it and\or if anyone else experienced the same issue. Thanks!

@kendarr

If you wanted to interpolate between cameras, that’s equivalent to simply animating one camera’s motion.
