In this (I Just) Died In Your Arms guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this 80's smash hit by Cutting Crew note-for-note.
The tuning is standard tuning, E A D G B E.
Guitarist Kevin MacMichael created some really cool guitar lines for this one. I will take you through each section of the song in the order that each appears on the original recording.
I will also show you how to play Kevin MacMichael's killer guitar solo note-for-note. This solo is incredibly melodic and fun to play. I hope you guys enjoy playing it as much as I do.

This is why we love you so much, Carl. All the 80's and 90's era of music fanatics, especially. This lesson is just another blessing for me, 'cause this is one of my most favorite songs in the 80s, growing up as a teenager at the time. I would always wait for the DJ (in my favorite FM radio channel) to play this song, and I would strike an air "guitar" along with the solo. Because during those times, I couldn't even play guitar yet. But anyway, Carl, thanks a million again for this another great lesson. We always appreciate you. Thanks Carl. A friend of mine knew Kevin MacMichael and Kevin had produced a demo of a song my friend wrote called Real World. Kevin wanted to put it on an album he was planning to do. Sadly cancer took his life before that could happen. About a year before his death he came to my area to play with his Beatle's cover band Spice and he brought with him the Beatle's first drummer Pete Best who he had met while living in England. Kevin was a native son of Nova Scotia and once played guitar for Robert Plant. The guy was an awesome player. RIP Kevin.

Hello… Kevin is my brother… sadly, he passed due to cancer Dec 31, 2002. I miss him terribly and hope to keep his music alive. So glad we have these videos and songs of his. Yes, Kevin did play with Pete Best and Floyd King and Paul Eisan at the Halifax Casino, I believe. If you go on google you should be able to view this. I will post the article if I find it.

I always loved that song, but now I really get it, yes the phrasing, the vibrato, the notes, a simple pop song! but it's actually quite a complex structure, loads of texture, he was obviously a very technical player! loved the breakdown! didn't get thet the intro at first listen! But I get it! I had no idea where on the fretboard to start, but respect to you, and as he has passed away, HUGE RESPECT TO HIM, HE KNEW HOW TO CRAFT AND PLAY A SONG, AND MAKE IT STICK IN MINDS NEARLY 40 YEARS LATER!
