Cutting down a dead standing red gum eucalyptus tree in Arizona. Native to Australia these eucalyptus were brought to Arizona in the mid to late 1800s where they thrive in the desert heat.
I used a modified Makita/Dolmar 7900 79cc saw with a 24" bar and chain to cut it down and a Chinese clone MS660 with a 42" bar and a PantherPros mill to slab it.
Red Gum is extremely dense and hard when dry. Many people might say that my chains are dull but I can assure you that they are sharp.
