As a South African pastor, I can honestly say that the problem we have in this country is ignorance, and a refusal to study the Bible & history for ourselves. The problem of ignorance is prominent among the black community; black South Africans are often infected with the "get rich quick" & dependency syndrome. This is why social grants, the National Lottery, Charismatic churches etc "in my humble opinion" are the causes of this "get rich quick" & dependency syndrome. We are a very lazy community of people who feel entitled to having things we never worked for, we never want to go out and work for our own wealth, we'd rather protest against the government; and hence why protests "against the government" are so prevalent in this country. When we do protest, it's never peaceful: We break into shops, steal and destroy our own resources, and hence weaken our own economy. The Only Way South Africa will ever be liberated from such Charlatans, is when we choose to become a people who are ready and happily willing to work, and build our own nation. We have to arm ourselves with information, especially religious information; this is how many people get duped in these churches. Begin to study the Bible and history surrounding the Bible on matters like sacrifices, tithes and offerings. There are more than enough facts in the Bible to debunk any lie, especially lies regarding money or "so-called offerings"!!! Let's get educated, and then we can boldly say that we belong to a very enlightened African society.
