Cutting Edge Of Realism: Magnific.AI - A Chat With Visual Artist Renee Robyn

Renee Robyn is a creative that I respect highly for her work and incredible balance of both technical and creative mastery! She recently told me about this upscaler/detailer called Magnific that allows you to take imagery and bring life into it through creative interpretation.
You can use it for anything from Stable Diffusion/FireFly/MidJourney images for the purpose of adding realistic detail, to using it for low resolution photographs to breathe new life into them in new ways.
She invited me to chat and I uploaded this on my channel as well! So if you hear her in the beginning, there's some context for ya!
HOW DOES THIS COMPARE TO TOPAZ AND OTHER UPSCALERS?
Unlike upscalers like Topaz Labs, this imagines details to be created, vs upscaling existing pixels.
WHAT! WHY ISN'T IT FREE?
At the moment it's fully subscription based as it's cutting edge and requires GPU power for each upscale on their end, but in time I suspect this price to come down as this is a competitive space. I just wanted to give you a window into the future of what's coming with AI generated imagery.

havent compared, however Topaz Photo AI upscales all my stuff perfectly.

Topaz is great as an upscaler! If you only need a 2x upscale, the neural filter in PS is fantastic as well!

At this current time yes. With how fast things are moving, that will shift, as will the options available and the level of detail. For people who may need this for asset generation, it isn't expensive. So it really depends on perspective and end use. At the least, enjoy the look into what's to come!

Definitely! Tutorials are best in short form. This was just a fun afternoon spent with a friend on some thoughts we shared about it for context, including things we learned along the way and wanted to just share it with anyone who would like to have it on in the background while editing or doing whatever. I will be following up with a short form version as well where it gets straight to the point!

good app...but a disgusting price. It's pretty easy to do the same thing for free with control net tiling on stable diffusion. it really isnt worth 40 quid a month for only 200 images
