I received a bunch of thunder eggs from Oregon and the PNW from ‪@WorldofRockhounds‬ and these thunder eggs being the best ones I have ever cut and they are AMAZING! So many beautiful bands inside them, so many details! I had a blast cutting these open and finding all that beauty that has been hiding inside for so long!

I love how much the inside of thundereggs can resemble landscapes! as a person who likes to paint landscapes (NOT a professional!! just a hobby) I'd love to paint some based of of thundereggs. I have one in my collection that looks like the moon over the water, very pretty.

I was given a thunder egg geode when I was a kid and it started my love of rocks. I still have that thunder egg over 40 years later.

That double egg looks like the stairway to heaven with Angles in the middle. I would absolutely LOVE to have one like this, but will probably never be duplicated.

You can see so many pretty pictures in them. From nebula’s to snowy horizons to skies touching oceans & more. And just when I thought I’d found my favourite of the bunch the next one turned out to be even better than the last! Very cool stuff. 😄

How much fun was that? Your excitement is worth it! Richardson Ranch eggs are amazing. And since you cant dig them yourself anymore, makes them all the more special. And the opal filled eggs looked like maybe they were succor creek eggs. But they were all spectacular! Im glad they were fun and not duds for you! I like the one with the little geode vugs of drusy in it! The side with the two vugs looks like a character from nightmare before christmas! Thanks for sharing your beautiful thundereggs! i know you are going to have a blast polishing them for sure!

Beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder. My favorite was the one at 4:42. I think that is the most beautiful thunder egg ever! What fun cutting them all open!

Randomly see this awesome vid. Never heard of thunder eggs before. At first, i saw random formations of geo-stuff. At 4:49 , i saw portait of a lakeside at night with full of stars. I think thats the magic with those stones. After that, each stone looked like something. Somewhere from space, lake, forest, sea, sunset...

@@OzzYY1988 its known as coprolite (Dinosaurs poo) so now we are talking real shit here haha, I have never heard of thunder eggs but thunder stones which is caused by lightning, and yes it’s better not to discuss anything about yours… Also I really understand how quartz crystals help to heal and they also protect, it’s nothing to magical about them just common sense haha

@@soupmanofthecan8325 I had an assumption that was way off base. I thought they were like natural fulgurites, when you use a metal rod to cause lightning strikes to hit pure sand, creating glass. Thunder eggs are a geological formation where mineral and agate can be drawn in to a hot gas bubble. I was curious if you could remove the entire outer layer, leaving just the mineral/agate formation in the center. Instead of a 2D slice or half, the 3D part in the center. I do not think it is possible, maybe with a laser and a computer, someone could make a 3D model and print it, idk.

My first love of my youth. Rocks!!Had the geology kits as a kid. S. Dakota summers from a Florida boy had plenty to look for. Arrowheads and cool rocks we didn’t have in flatland. 4:48 reminds me of standing on ice in the middle of the night looking towards mountains, with the cosmos above them. My favorites of all of them really. But that last one of heaven above and hell below was cool.
