@@Mclovin21983 Been driving for 25 years now, still happens i pop a clutch if i drive a new clutch im not familiar with. They vary so much, and im a creature of habit so :P My sisters car (Ford Focus) has really aggressive brakes. Everyone who drives that car end up almost emergency braking when trying to brake normally lol. So annoying to drive that car

Ha! "The Life of Riley" comment sure brought me back to the late '40's and early '50's. TV shows have sure changed (and not necessarily for the better, I'm sad to say). Henry's bout of tractor training went just about the same as mine---although he didn't spill you off of the end of the wagon like I did my grandpa. Grandpa's reaction (and vocabulary) was a wee bit different than I would expect you would have shown to Henry. Thanks for a trip down memory lane, again, and for sharing your day's activities with us on the other side of the computer.

I can remember when I was taught to drive my first tractor. It was on a Farmall Super A, then I learned how to rake hay. We used the Super A for raking hay. That was my job on the farm for the rest of the summer. I loved it. I love teaching my grandkids about farming, the cattle, calving, spring planting and fixing fence. The worst part is picking up rocks in the field, they loose interest quickly. The kids usually run off and explore in the area, it is a win win for everyone. Eventually they return and we finish rock picking and head back to the house. Teaching is one of the best things with farming. Good luck with the piglets. Be safe out there, farmer rod

And training the next generation of farmers is more important than ever before. Humanity will be absolutely dependent on them in the future. There is possibly no more humbling and honest work than farming, something todays youth is terribly lacking in. Farming is at the very roots of mankind, and soon mankind will have to find and rekindle these roots or we will perish because of it.

Nice job Henry! Getting a hang of a clutch takes practice. The best advice I give newbies is when letting the clutch out to go slowly, and once you feel it start to move hold your foot in place till the tractor is moving then let your foot off the rest of the way. He'll get it.

Dear Pete… It IS harder to learn how to drive on video… 😆 brought me right back to me learning how to drive … a girl at 14 (~1967) when I drove our little cub to help mow our farm in PA. Henry on the tractor reminds me of a story with my dad. I was probably 6 or 7. He asked me to stand (couldn't reach sitting) on the driver's side and push the brake when he yelled. the truck was going to creep along in the pasture while he stood in the back of the bed feeding out hay to the cattle. He yelled, I smashed the brake with great enthusiasm and my dad hit the cab of the truck. Oops. Lesson learned and never forgotten. LOL

You made red have a soft spot in my heart. Henry is not only my favorite rifle but it's your son I see a bunch potential in his future. I loved your total rebiuling tractors to their former glory. You told you would be lucky to get 50% of your cost back. I just REBUILT my 1969 AMC AMX 390 And I know how much parts cost, knowing tractor parts expensive they are. Dud my hands in to see what they really bring and what they should be. 4 years ago my AMX cost me 10k but I saw the potential. 26 k retail when I bought it retail, IT'S NOW WORTH $ 70, 000 RETAIL SAID HAGERTY INSURANCE. YOUR H is so beautiful and I found AROUND same year as your diesel, 12 volt. The red fanatic wanted to buy it for at most $ 7,500 max because the good stuff already changed but was only 80 % completed. It brought 14, 500 plus fee to buy. Shocked. Did I missing something Pete.
