Thank you so much for this hack! I have an Explore Air 2, so the numbers were different, but it's still the same steps. After some trial and error, the correct pressure I found worked was 183. The default pressure is set to 158.

After wasting so much glitter vinyl, this video has solved the problem. I'm in the UK and the cut pressure settings for glitter vinyl on my Explore Air 2 was originally about 160. I've changed it to 227 and it's now perfect and so much easier to work with. Thank you so much for sharing!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting this. I have been trying to weed Shimmer vinyl for hours, and trying every trick posted on youTube, but your video solved the problem for me. It was the PRESSURE on my machine that was out of wack. Once I increased the pressure, per your instructions, my blade cut right though and I was able to successfully use the vinyl.

Put setting on 1 past the card stock option on cricut setting knob. It will cut the glitter vinyl with no problem easy to weed. I just did it this morning from iPhone .....

Thank you SO much for this!!! I wish I could figure out how to run tests with the small pieces you did as I expect to be doing a lot of that! I had been using without issue the Dollar Tree glitter vinyl. Suddenly the dark gray started pulling up all the lettering as it cut. Larger cuts were fine. Changed blade and same issue. From your video I think I may have needed to set the pressure a little higher. The same brand glitter vinyl silver cut perfectly just like your test. OK I thought maybe the darker was older. So I bought new glitter vinyl but had to try a different brand which is Make Market and I could tell it was much thicker backing. I was prepared for it not to cut all the way through, but I was not prepared for it not to cut at all, just dug up the glitter. It ruined two blades and I fear since I can't take the housing apart that it is ruined too, all that glitter up in the tiny hole of the housing. Anyway, I ran that sheet through 5 times adjusting the depth of cut and it never did cut the vinyl at all. You can see where it tried to cut. Now I don't really know what to do. I can't get Dollar Tree vinyl any more and this Make Market is all my local store carries and I don't want to order a roll or pack just for it to do the same thing. Any suggestions out there?

That’s what happened to me with glitter so frustrating I went into change the pressure however my pressure was on 158 and I cannot go any lower then 100. I have a cricut 2. I’ve sorted it tho and it worked. Thank you for your video tho extremely helpful.

Wow, I didn't even know about the try inside the door until you just mentioned it, lol. Uhg, I wish I would've seen this before I just wasted a bunch of vinyl :/ One thing I'm confused about though, you mentioned a blade with a different color cap? Which blade did you use for this tutorial? If you mentioned it, I'm sorry I missed it. Cricut says to use the fine tip. I just found out about changing the pressure for glitter vinyl through watching your video, I am a new Cricut Maker owner. I have cut a lot of my glitter iron on vinyl to no success🙄. Question? Are those same settings for glitter iron on vinyl? And if not how would I find out the correct pressure size?

I'm glad you found me.. and I am so sorry I was a slug in my delayed replies... Glitter iron on and glitter vinyl would be 2 different settings. Not sure on the HTV (iron on) because my machine cuts like a dream... If you didn't get yours working.. then send me what your pressure is set at and I'll go in and check my pressure on my maker.

Did you use a deep cut blade or the fine point blade. My first time doing glitter vinyl and I’m really nervous. Don’t know how to go into the settings to change pressure if needed.. thanks for the help though.

Thank you for sharing this with us. It is very helpful. My wife had a Cricut .. I didnt like the fact that you must be connected to the internet to use it.. I bought her a much better cutter ... a Cameo .. much cheaper and much better.. not internet needed.
