Cutting Grass In The Winter with Fleming Topper and Massey Ferguson 1525

One job that must be done is to mow the grass prior to planting trees in this area. In some areas I have already planted some trees because the grass was fairly short. This is a job for the Massey Ferguson 1525 and 4 foot Fleming Topper

I use the Massey Ferguson 590 2WD for topping the field and it’s a fun job to do. Nice to see a field full of thorns and nettles turned into a green grass field.

Dagger, some small advise. At 8:44 you start up the mower, next time keep it a little up if you start. It maybe sound stupid, but if you have the mower on the ground and you start it, there is a possibility that the mower can't start because it does not have the strength if there is to much to mow underneath the deck. For the rest, nice video !!! love to see what you are doing in future video's !!! :)

Such nice videos Dagger! Make me forget about everyday rush :) Regarding the part where you picked up a wire; it can happen even when you own the field for years. Someone throws garbade onto it. Fall 2017 it happened to me with the MF8160 and the 5m Nobili mulcher, when a piece of wire fence was thrown onto my field and totally stopped one half of the mulcher. 2 hours of work cutting it loose.

I used to do topping on a MF 165 and a 6 or 7FT foster topper, great pair, the MF was great! Head out with lunch in the tool box, cut 10 acre and have lunch! Spot on

You have a real nice transport trailer for al your new machinery. And maby a tip if you tilt the mower more backwards it digs less into the ground. And you are lucky its mostly dead grass previous year i tried to mow a field with 0.5 meter high grass my speed was about 2 km/h because i was to much for the 80 hp deutz.

You need to adjust the toplink so there is no tension in the chains on the topper so it can almost "float"

We have an early model jx75 caseih and a 15 foot bat wing and 5 ffoot bush hog we use for this stuff. We use the Bush hog where the bat wing doesn't fit

ever thought about a magnet scanner thingy? If you are always working in unknown fields it could be a solution for those left behind barbed wires and stuff. it sends out a loud beeping noise whenever you drive over something.

I would not use a mulcher on the john deere to mow that, the deck will plug constantley, the best tool would be a rear finish mower or a flail mower for the massy

you need to lower the topper more so it runs on the skids and the top link needs to be longer so the chains have about 2 cms of slack or it can stress the chains
