Old Disabled House Bound Dusty Rusty Rockhound here: I cut my teeth on Arkansas quart crystals... learned to walk looking for Arizona agates... hid Boley agates from Oklahoma in my apron pockets at age 3. I was my Dad's little pebble pup... became his gemstone as I worked with him side by side in our lapidary shop. Now, this video brought back wonderful memories of my Dad! He's now a fossil and I am the molded impression of his existence. Thank you, Taylor for showing these Arizona agates! Thank you, to my Dad, for a lifetime of love, nature, science, beauty, and wonder! ❤❤❤❤

I'm a newbie and so excited to have found you tonight !!! Growing up (60+ years ago, my dad did all of this. I still have a butterfly pin that he made my mother, made from gold stone ( I think that's what you call it...looks like glitter). We used to go to the rock quarries, climb up on top of the river rock piles and hunt for hours. My dad nicknamed me his Rock hound pebble puppy !!! Such wonderful memories !!! Thank you so much for sharing your craft !!! You found some real beauties !!!

I see many comments expressing fear that lapidarists will cut themselves with their saws. The diamond saws they use don't actually cut like a regular saw, they abrade a narrow channel through the material. You can hurt yourself with them but the injury will be more like a burn than a cut and won't be very deep. Eye injury when you forget to put your safety glasses on is a bigger problem.

I remember when you came out here to Arizona. Loved watching you find some of these rocks. I believe mostly fire agates. Was it as Saddle Mountain that you found these beauties? Asking cause I struggle to find mountain agates. And go to saddle mountain very often. Just went today. It was amazing due to the rain we had. And many fire agates were ver visible. Thankfully they hadn’t been picked up. I love the rose pattern calcedony. But struggle to find just regular agates. You have some Very very pretty finds.

Wonderful!! I loved the one that was a geode too. I admire from afar the amazing beauty you reveal in the rocks you cut and polish. I go to Etsy to see the end results but as tempted as I am and even if you posted to UK I could not environmentally justify posting a rock across an ocean - but I'm tempted. lol

I didn’t know there were agates in the AZ desert! I’m in MN in the summer (on a lake) and AZ in the winter. I’ve been a rock hound I think since I started walking, always had a sunburned neck in the summer walking the shores looking for agates. Where in the desert do you look and what are you looking for? Do,you dig for them or just find them in the top of the ground? I know what a MN agate looks like but I’m not familiar with the ones in AZ. Help! I love watching your videos, especially when you get so excited when you open them! Love it!

Where in Arizona are good spots? I live in the northern most part, but travel down south. I would love to find a few! I find some hard circles of rock up here but they are just brown on the inside. I have found some sedimentary rocks with crystals growing in them. I am really trying to learn what I am looking at.
