Use a circular saw on all sides and finish with reciprocating saw to cut the middle.

When you said the saw gets really hot it can burn your hands you said you should be practicing what? I couldn't understand the words. What is better to do? Thank you. I'm planning on doing this.

duty cycle of the motor. Given how much load the saw was continuously taking it generated a lot of heat. Starter motors on engines generally have published duty cycles, which would give metrics such as using the motor for 20 seconds and then letting it rest for xx seconds. Not following them can greatly reduce the life of a motor. A lot of tools have a thermal device that will keep the motor from overheating. Does DeWalt? Likely so, but ive also overheated dewalt tools before so I my thought process is if a tool is hot to the touch then let it cool down before pressing on.

I'd be interested in your experience transporting and filling in that much rock. I've got a smaller project and 4" to 8" river rock is something I'm just starting to look at for it.
