Nice channel you 2, I love being around farms doing tractoring things. I use to haul farm equipment to local farmers here in VA & NC from a John Deere dealer. In winter we outfit our 6 and 7 series tractors with snow blades and clear roads for the state.

Like the Hay. When we couldn't get bailer, we pitchforked it onto a wagon and loose stacked it at the ranch. We used a team of mules on the wagon. Sadie and Genie did great team work.

@frankirwin23777 жыл бұрын
Yep, when you can't get the equipment in time, you still need to get the hay picked up and stacked where you can use it before the rain or snow flies.

You're baling the same day you cut? It's drying that fast? I'm in Upstate NY, I've never baled same-day, it's usually next day or even 3rd day. Must be you have much stronger sun and lower humidity? Or, you're OK with a higher moisture content in the hay....

Will you bale 1/2 circle a day with the little baler? or what do you shoot for if the weather is working with you.
@scottfreeman7967 жыл бұрын
AndersonCattleCo. I only cut about 15 to 20 acres down at a time depending on the thickness. That usually puts me between 1500 to 1800 bales .

Question. You went directly from tedding to baling. I though you would ted because its not quite dry, then give it a day to finish drying? I'm new thus year to making my own hay and trying to learn all I can to do it right.
@NorthTexasHay7 жыл бұрын
isfahel ww I ted before I bale partly because we pull the rake in front of the baler. The goal is to have the the hay dry enough to start baling by 1 o'clock

Awesome you can save fuel taking and baling in a single pass, that would never work for us.
@scottfreeman7967 жыл бұрын
Drew w in a two person operation it allows me to begin picking up bales almost as soon as they drop on the ground, keeps me from working till midnight getting them in the barn. We would have to run the rake basically in front of the baler to keep it from over drying so it made sense for us
