Thanks Aaron , the joy and memories your video bring is awesome. dad bought a New Holland square baler from local dealer Portage la Prairie , Manitoba 1972 or 1973 recal model 273. did not have the bale thrower device ,just an additional extension to deliver bales to the front of towed flat deck hay wagon. carrying bales & stacking them was my job age 10 until 18. 1981 dad bought a Vermeer model 605 round baler , 3 man down to 1 man operation.

Nice to see the 1066 black stripe at work in the field. I grew up on a 966 which I thought was great (back in the seventies it was great for sure). Thanks.

So glad to see the good yield. Love how you all work well together and love the sound of the baler working away. Hope your dad isn't too stressed. It worked out and things can be fixed. It never seems to happen that only one thing goes wrong. Totally different, but if one car was having a problem, the other either had a flat tire or my husband would run out of gas and had to walk to a gas station, buy another gas can and walk back again. He drove a great deal with his job and always thought he could make it somewhere. We now have a good selection of gas cans, though.

Love the tricycle front end tractors, brings back such good memories growing up. Similar hills and terrain to my neck of the woods in Upstate NY. Never tipped a tractor over but I can remember a hay wagon tipped over on a sidehill like yours. Skinny truck tires and too much up top. People should watch videos on how the knotters work on these balers, really pretty cool.

Definitely check the hydraulic filter. That thrower should send bales over the top of the racks. I know it's a fairly new baler, but the filter may have picked up stuff that was missed being cleaned before assembly, and has reduced flow. I prefer the seeing the big 7810 in front of the baler! The perfect combination in my mind!👍👍

Alfalfa can be packed tighter than grass hay. I used to make them 80#, but I was stacking behind the thrower on 8 ton wagons. Didn't need any extra exercise then, either! 😂💪

My experience with those new Holland bale throwers it sounds like you need to increase your hydraulic flow on the tractor a bit. Most of the time that fixes that issue. We had that switching back and forth on tractors also

For some reason it seems the bales are slowing down the thrower belts you could hear it in the video. It could be the density of the bale.

Can't bale big long bales in second cut with a bake thrower they tend to be less rigid and to many break open from getting fired in the wagon.

I just remember as a farm kid bailing hay in the 70s with no thrower having to physically handle every bail multiple times and being cursed with hay fever how I hated that task. The large round bailer wasn't at that time a reality. If farming today I would never allow a small square bailer on my property. I get that you love them but not me. I love to watch the channel, but this makes me cringe a bit.
